Weekly Redfish Meetup and SBD Giveaway

Feel like a little fish in a big pond?

Welcome to the weekly meetup just for you.

The purpose of this contest is to meet new people, have exposure for something you created this week, some wonderful conversations, and a chance to win SBD.

Sometimes really cool posts get lost in the flood of posts especially for those of us that are new and don’t have a large following or cannot afford advertising. I would like to give new users a chance to have some of their work viewed by a larger part of the steemit community and also a chance at some SBD both for entering and also commenting. Everyone says comment, comment, comment…

Payouts

  1. Best post by a redfish = 40% of SBD payout from this post
  2. Best comment = 25% of SBD payout from this post ANYONE IS eligible for this award
  3. Redfish interact prize = 10% of SBD payout split up between all redfish that link and comment but don’t win.

To enter the contest:

1.Post a link to 1 thing you created this week and a quick description about content… the description is not necessary but helps draw people in.

  1. Read a post by at least 2 other contestants and comment on at least one that you really liked or felt motivated to respond to.
  2. To be eligible to win best post you must be a redfish (less than 1000SP)

To win the contest:

The best comment will be decided by myself.
The best post will be awarded based on the number of votes a post receives.
Each comment is worth 1 vote for the post. Each upvote is worth ½ a vote for a post.
Here is an example

If we use this example: @danjo1984 would get 4 votes.
.5 from @jysui + .5 from myself for upvotes =1 vote
1 from @ailenepm + 1 from @jysui + 1 from myself for the comments = 3 votes

The fine print...
Contest closes a week from today, the sooner you post the more likely you are to get more votes.
An upvote is not required to join this contest but, as the prize is a % of the SBD payout it is encouraged that you upvote and resteem to increase the prize payout.
Payout will be within 24 hours of this posts expiration and will be announced in a winners post.

Here is a link to last weeks if you need an idea of how we play.

Please do not add bots that COMMENT to this post as it distracts from what we are doing.

Being a teacher has never sank in until I reached the age of 26. I always thought that teaching in public school is really tiring.. The most exhausting job I'll ever do. But now I am a teacher at public school that feeling of being exhausted is present but the love I receive from my students vanishes them all.

Wow! You are quite the teacher. To actually go and visit the students that dont come to class to see if theres an issue that you can help with is very special. I can imagine how exhausting it is, especially when ou try so hard and some students would rather stay out late. But you go above and beyond, and while they may not realize it right now, later in life they will see how much of a blessing you are! I loved this saying, so honest and true...
"Being a teacher is not limited in the four walls of the classroom. Anyone can be a teacher but a chosen few has the heart to dedicate their life in helping their students."

thank you.. I greatly appreciate it.. sometimes we teacher can go beyond our working hours in the name of service..

I enjoyed reading your post, it reminded me of a visit I had to Guatemala to study anthropology. I wish the teachers in my area were as dedicated as you are to doing followup visits at their students houses. I like the choice of black and white photos for this post.

thank you.. I am happy to have shared a bit of my time to my students who needs my guidance.. thank you for taking time to read..

@sawi you're a great teacher which is evident by the concern you have for the well being and progress of your students. I'm sure this girl was surprised to see you, especially having to walk so far, and she must have been uplifted by your concern. I hope she has returned to classes. You deserve to be blessed for the love and dedication you give to your profession.

yes they both came to class early the next day and the next day too. Came to me with a smile, I am just so happy to see them go to school. I have always have the feeling of satisfaction seeing this kids do better in school. Thank you for dropping by and taking the time to read my post.

I am very impressed by the commitment that you have shown to teaching. Not many teachers would take the time to drive a car to a students house let alone walk to rural areas. That experience gave you the chance to step in their shoes and see how far your students walk every day. The willingness to do this show great compassion and empathy. They are lucky to have you!

what a wonderful thing you did @sawi! I love the way you took the time to show the path you followed. It is inspiring to see your story and to also see what other people struggle with. I have been to the Philippines many times and I can picture that exact setting in my mind! You are so good to take such an interest in your students and I will give you my upvote here and my resteem on your post! Great job!!!

Inspirational!! Love it! More than any teachers do around here, that's for sure! Cute cab too btw!

I wrote an article about voting when your vote worth appears 0.00. Why it is still important and that multiple 0.00 votes add up to cents. You can read about it here

What about voting to get noticed? I did this and think it gave me a lot back, both followers and votes:-)

Believe it or not, I actually read this post before seeing in this thread.... I think. I found it informative and well written and have bookmarked a couple of the links you provided using my name as the variable.

great post, this is what I have been asking myself.. helpful post..

My first post on Steemit in over a year is three of my fan art drawings from the Undertale game world and a description of each.

Welcome back to steemit, you should try sticking around this time.

Its awesoem to see you here! I really liked your art, my favorite one was the last one even though its so sad.

I knew I would get you to start posting again eventually. Welcome back to steemit.

This is a post to tell you about how you can always make your vote count, even if you are small ($0.00) or away. Its very easy and I describe how to set it up. And of course, also suggest you use "newbieresteemday" as your voter. ;)

I have realized that this platform is INTENSE over the last couple days I have been here. There is so much information. Thank for your posting these tidbits for all of us to further understand how things operate here. :)

yes it is @staggpaul lol... I'm on my 52nd day and I can still remember the early ones... If it helps you, you can go through my blog (or anyone's for that matter)... the reason why you would do that is I have always been explaining what I've learned (starting from about my 7th day)... there is a lot of information so take your time...

Also you can ask me any questions at anytime, I'm happy to share information! You will soon find out that you want to make your friends and followers better too... It actually helps you because the votes get higher!

Stay in touch and ask me anything!

Thank you very much. I'll be sure to do that !

If you find an old post to be helpful and want to throw them an upvote... make a comment instead. If the author comments back you can upvote that for a tip to the author.

Good advice sir!

Here is my link to not my most helpful steemit post but the post that will give you something to think about:-) https://steemit.com/norway/@everydaycoach/how-to-invest-in-yourself

This is an interesting piece on self-reflection and making time for ourselves. As humans we find ourselves ever busy with life; this was a great reminder to take the time to be consciously aware of who we are and what we are doing. Thanks for this reminder!

Thank you @royaleagle. Nice of you to tale time and give me nice Feedback. Have a great weekend

Check wallet, small donation, decide how you see fit, I did make a recommend in the wallet note, of 1.50 for first, 1.00 for 2nd and .50 for third, but use and decide how YOUwant.

you're awesome bashadow! an amazing teammate :)

I added 0.50 to @bumper for this contest. Thank you @bashadow When you have a moment come chat with me in the discord channel @bashadow. I have some ideas I would like to talk to you about that @davemccoy and I have been chatting about.

Okay I think I am in the general chit chat section of SNRI on discord.

Do you have a link for me? I guess I am not on that server.

My 500th post is the start of a new series in which I highlight a few deserving steemians.

very good @erebus! I like @royaleagles work too. I think his bot services are underutilized and as we all get bigger I think that may change!!!

Nice job highlighting someone you respect... and I too want to watch the confessor account, I think its very creative!

Supporting each other in any community weather online or in real life is the best way to form a successful and secure society. We all need to be recognized for our efforts as well so I thank you for doing that. :)

I liked your post for the 500 mark:-)

I wonder if I'll make the list someday.

Interesting idea.

A write up about a decentralized blockchain for Sports Nuts to Author and curate for rewards.... Cheers for the mention @royaleagle. https://steemit.com/steem/@danjo1984/scorum-steem-for-sports-fanatics

This sounds very cool, can you register already, or is still under development, and will it cover all sports.

Hey mate, Here's a link that will answer a lot of what I can't. But they're still in ICO phase at the moment .

@losthippie these effects are awesome. And it's a sad reality that the poachers hack off the horns for the sake of a bit of cash. How ignorant are the buyers of these horns, believing that they can improve their sexual performance.

I had an order for a delish Carrot Cake! It was rainy and cold and I didnt want to get out into that mess! Luckily for me, I had something up my sleeve! Check out my post to see how to make a delicious cake using an ordinary cake box!
