Our network provides indigenous Artisans with a direct trade platform to sell their art. By providing this free service , we open channels which create opportunity to benefit families and communities, helping to preserve tradition for future generations. HOW IT WORKS...

DIRECT TRADE STOCK

Our team of dedicated local and indigenous photographers regularly visit marketplaces and the communities. The team takes photos and generates codes which produce a live inventory of products that we have available for sale. If the artisan sells their product, they inform us so that we can update our inventory in real time. Likewise, when we sell their product, our photographer notifies the artisan so that they can remove the product from display to reserve for pickup and shipment.

ROOTS PROJECT STOCK

Once we receive photos from Artisans, we allocate a buying budget to secure the most beautiful pieces and add these to our stock. Photographers collect the products and send them to one of our fulfilment teams ready for shipment from the US or the UK. Sometimes, this stock will still be in the transit stage so there may be a delay. Customers receive automated shipment notifications updating them on the stages of the journey.

SHIPMENTS

For our Direct Trade Products, we batch shipments every month and send to our fulfilment teams. Our Fulfilment team package the products and ship them directly to your door. Bulk shipment keeps our costs low and our fulfillment team delivers high quality ethical packaging, along with product information. Automated tracking information is sent to you, so that you are updated through every stage of the journey.

We have designed a simple pricing structure which ensures artisans always receive their asking price. We then multiply this by 3, to generate an appropriate online retail price which enable us to distribute funds like so;

INTERCULTURAL CUSTOMISATIONS

To help artisans maximize their potential in the global marketplace, we work with a highly skilled team of product developers, fashion designers and musicians. They work with ancestral arts to develop a diverse range of functional, unique and beautiful products. This enables us to appeal to a wider range of customers, support the work of indigenous and intercultural artists and to continue supporting grass roots regenerative non-profits.

SHIPMENTS

Our international team of Artists work from locations the world over. We provide direct trade platforms for them to sell and ship their products directly to you. Digital products are available directly through our website and through online services and automated tracking information is sent to you to keep updated through every step of the journey.

TRANSPARENT PRICING

We have two pricing structures for our Roots Sponsored Intercultural Customizations and for People to host products as a store on our platform;

The first offers a a direct trade platform for them to sell their products through our website. In this instance we list the item at the asking price and ask the artisan that we share
split as so:

• ⅙ to a non-profit that we're currently helping to seed or support
• ⅙ to reinvest into our project to help our vision grow and manifest

The second is when we have sponsored the development of a product. In this instance, we have worked with a designer to co-create an item for The Roots Project, working with traditional art to feature on our website. The retail price gets split as so;

• ⅓ Total cost of production per piece
• ⅙ Non-profit regenerative organization
• ⅙ to Designer and Shipment fees
• ⅓ to Reinvest into the Roots Project

 

ROOTS PROJECT RECORDS

Roots Project Records is our regenerative record label, bridging the ancestral healing music of indigenous communities to the wider world. We work with nonprofits who have trusted relationships with tribal artists; only selecting nonprofits who share our values and our vision. We then invite them to get involved. We receive original songs from our indigenous artists and forward them to a team of elected world music producers who create a diverse range of intercultural remixes.

TRANSPARENT PRICING

Funds are transferred to the non-profit and the original Artist (or family if passed away), on either a monthly basis or when they have accumulated to an agreed upon amount. Profits, after platform and distribution, are shared like so;
