My Wednesday evening walk!
Hello Wonderful People!
Happy Wednesday!
Living in a city like Dhaka is very 'suffocating'. Yeah, I choose this word purposefully. Coz this is how I feel sometimes. The place where I live, I hardly can see any trees or birds. There is also no park nearby where I can go fo a walk with my son. The only entertainment place is restaurants, malls and indoor playgrounds which costs much. I know how bad my son also feels sometimes to see all the 'negative visuals'.
I sometimes think about where should I move? I choose to live near my office to give my son some more time. But maybe I have to choose another option. Coz he is growing up, he demands to go outside and we can't provide a quality outdoor visit! This is how life here in Dhaka!!
I'm sharing some night view near my place, you can guess why I feel so. There is a gas pump nearby, when it's not that busy I sometimes go for a walk there, alone or with my son. I know it's a very risky and bad idea. But this is the only place with a little space to walk. Can you believe my life? I have a plan to move from this place this December.
This is the only tree nearby! I have to walk 15-20 minutes, cross the busy road to reach a nearby park. So it's not always possible to go there. There are some trees in my apartment's rooftop. I sometimes bring my son there to play.
So that's my life...without any green and blue sky! Suffocating, is not it?

That is sad that they dont seem to encourage some green places.

Yeah.. that's how it is.. this is very normal here. And I feel sometimes wired that I'm complaining about it.

I feel for you living in the middle of the city which is so busy even in the evenings! When I was living in the city (no where as crowded as there) I always sought out green spaces for my sanctuary. I feel fortunate to have bought up my son in a forest community where they could play in the woods and swim in the lake. Most of his days were spent outside in the summer time - not so in the winter for it was too cold (although they would then go skating on the lake). I believe kids need that green space and it would be worth the move if it doesn't take away too much of your time with him to commute to work. Good luck on finding another place or more green places to be outside.
Yeah, it makes me feel sad that I can't give him more green or open space. Hope I can move on a better place soon.
