Happiness is a Choice!

I sometimes think, what makes me feel happy? Maybe a very small thing, maybe the smile of my son or maybe it's just the good weather. And maybe altogether I feel happy. Happiness comes in so many forms, it's actually fullish to search for it in any specific place.

Our peace of mind makes us feel happy. If we feel happy inside, we spread it outside. If we consider ourselves a happy human being, the world in front of us starts to change its color. We started to see happy faces everywhere. But it's actually a little bit difficult to consider ourselves happy?

I mean we have so many things to achieve, so much pressure from inside out, anxiety, stress, and everything. How can we consider ourselves happy holding all these emotions? For me, "Happiness is a choice". We can create most of our happy feelings. We can achieve the state of mind to feel happy.

There're so many different ways to cultivate positive energy. From meditation to mindful practices, from breathing practices to a healthy lifestyle. I think those are really helpful to achieve the state of mind. I'm not sure if you think the same way. But let me give you some examples of what I have realized from my life...

When I became a Mom, I have to go through a flood of emotions, maybe we all have to. I was happy but deep inside I was so fragile. Every sleepless night was a nightmare and the day after that night was unimaginable. I was in the 'Blue stage' and I was not sure how can I feel the 'state of mind'. I was happy but I was sad at the same time. My face was smiling but my eyes were very sad. It felt like I'm living someone else's life. I never thought I have to go through this stage of feeling. I thought motherhood can make me happy a thousand times. But I have to accept this reality. And when my son started to grow up, I was searching like a mad, what can make me find my state of mind, where can I find some peace!

And then I realize I can create my own happiness, I can train my brain to feel better no matter what is going on around. I started to practice 'mindfulness' in every step of my life. And it helps. It works like magic. I become the controller of my emotions and it makes me so much stronger than before.

In my personal blog, I try to talk about mindful life and how it helps me to become a happy person. I think anyone can do this and it's not actually hard. There are many helpful methods and articles available on the web also. Try it. I think it can help us to gradually stop considering ourselves unhappy and rather we can find the path of our peach of mind!

I've always likened "Happiness" to "climate vs weather", in that we can generally be happy (climate), though there will always be days where we have negative emotions (weather). As long as we can keep generally being happy, we're doing well.

Mindfulness is a great. Time to empty the mind is also key; time to acknowledge emotions, positive and negative, and understand that they all play a part in who we are.
