See What I See: The Reptilian Deed In Dirt Is Done.

My plan (all along ) was to let a strain of cannabis known as AC/DC run cover for all the reptilians in my charge.

For those of you who have minds that like to keep details organized, AC/DC is also known as cannatonic.

I chose her because she’s got a nice thick Indica leaf and she’s full like a chrysanthemum.

She knows what she’s doing; just like a bodyguard should.

What?!? When Did You Sign Us Up For Reptilian Guardianship?!? Little Miss?

Awe, the day I struck a deal with a Mother Snapping Turtle. It was back in June. She agreed not to eat my plants and to use her power (from the water) to protect them, If I agreed to use my power (from the land) to ensure her babies could safely incubate and hatch.

The deal was done then.

See the snapper. She’s trying to hide on her belly pan, (in grass ) that’s way to short to provide any camouflage.

I’d just started planting the garden. Half of the plants went into the ground as Mothers (grown from seed and at approximately 3 feet tall). The others were small (10 inch) clones or cuttings (taken from the Mothers and rooted before I planted them.

As I am growing on a hill (and in full sun) I used 5 gallon (20 litre) pails that I repurposed into planting wells.

Once the bottoms of the pails were cut out, the pails were cut in half.

(This created 2 individual planting rings from each pail.)

Once sunk into the ground, each ring, creates a well which can hold 2 gallons of water. The well gives time for the soil around the base of the plants to absorb the water instead of it pooling at the bottom of the hill and being poorly utilized.

Isn’t that wicked!?! It’s been 90 days.

I’ve also put 90 days into my turtle watch.

From the time of the laying of the clutch.

3 days ago, (on September 11th, 2019) the weather went from cool with low humidity to high and muggy.
Then a thunderstorm with lightning and high winds followed.

This was the signal.

A sudden change in temperature and some cracking good thunder with a strong rain hitting the ground.

I just knew it was time. It was The time!

Look closely.

Here they come...

It took 2 hours from the time their Mother climbed ashore, hiked her ass up hill, dug a nest, laid her clutch, buried them, and made the hike back to the water.

Once the first baby turtle dug itself out of the ground, it took 2 hours for all of them to hike downhill to their water home.

They could see and hear acutely, the moment they emerged from the earth.
They naturally knew the correct direction to travel in.

This is the belly pan of a baby snapping turtle who has hatched and emerged from the earth, minutes ago...

Minutes.

Notice the details. The webbing between the toes, the perfect scales, the tiny claws and the crook to its wee tail.

Do you know what kind of star alignment has to occur to be able to be in the NOW to be present to observe this?

The window is 2 hours.

On this day, 11 baby snapping turtles made it home...

After some time past, I dug the nest out to be sure that my end of deal was complete and Nobody got left behind.

It was a Dirty Deed.

I just received word from Grandma No Chill...plants have been stolen in our area...Mother Snapping Turtle, use your power now, the next 3 weeks are going to require all the majik I can conjure, if my babes are going to make it.
