Today, I decided to share our experience in designing the religious place of our house. Mostly, it's really not about designing, it's about beautiful Buddha statues that we found during our research.

First, we were not much selective about the elements of the worship place, but later we did a little bit of research on the topic. In out house design, we hadn't created any specific place like a Courtyard or table for a religious place. First, we wanted to place a big statue on the front balcony, but later we felt it can be an irrespect.

So finally we decided to do a simple worship place, which is very common nowadays. We assigned a budget first, not to expend beyond the limits. Our goal was to purchase the column, statue, and also other puja items under the budget.

So, at the very first thing, I purchased an off-budget ornament for the worship place design, but it was also on the plan. I guess this Bo tree with shiny green leaves will add color to the place.

Anyway, then we started to check for columns and statues suitable for the work. As the first thing, facebook showed this page : https://www.facebook.com/messidecose on our feed, even without making any search! Actually, this page was really good. They have plenty of designs for columns and statues and even prices were comparatively low. We picked a statue from the page but we really wanted to study more before buying.

So we started to visit multiple shops. "First shop to learn". From this shop, we learned the materials of the statues. Statues can be made from cement, cement+plaster of pairs, Dolomite stones, or Dolomite stones + cement. The cement statues are normally colored to take an antique look, and this color can be depreciated with time. We would have missed this information if we purchased from the Facebook store directly.

Concrete statues are really beautiful and also prices are not very high. We were checking for a statue of 17 or 18 inches. Concrete statues of this range is priced at 4000-5000 LKR. Plaster of pairs statues ranges from 2000- 3000 LKR. The Dolamite statues vary between 7000-8500 for the above size. But rare colors and difficult hand postures (Hastha Mudra) are more expensive.

After visiting about 9 shops we decided what we want and what is the best deal for us. We went for a Black color column and a black antique-looking Buddha Statue of 17''.

We loved the calmness of the face, and also the carving of expressions. Black color suits for the white wall behind the place. We received the pooja item set for free. Plus free delivery. Column and Statue cost us 15 000LKR which is in our budget.

I will share the final output once all the arrangements are done.
