The Debate (Week 14); Why students shouldn't be allowed to use phones in schools

Greetings wonderful and fashionable steemians how are you doing today I hope all is well and you all are having a nice and wonderful day, as for me I'm perfectly fine

In today's entry I will be participating in a debate contest organize by @sahmie which is titled "Should Students Be Allowed to Use Phones in School: Yes or No?"

This is actually one of the most difficult questions to answer because we all know that phones and computers generally is a good reference source that provides a student with the necessary information needed to solve a particular problem

At the same time phones and computers can be as distracting as Satan himself in a way that it can ultar a students focus in class activities thus left with a disrupted mine from social medias.

Should Students Be Allowed to Use Phones in School: Yes or No?

But since this is a debate and clearly it has been made mandatory to pick a side, so for this debates sake I think my answer here would be No, students shouldn't be allowed to use phones in schools.

You may be wondering why shouldn't they be allowed to use phones in schools? but I will explain;

The reason why I said that students shouldn't be allowed to use phones in schools is due to the level of distraction that comes along with it, and speaking from experience especially when it's time to read or do an assignment.

I remember back then in college when we attend night classes which is always time for reading, but trust me when I say this that majority of the students inside the night class their face will be shinning (pressing their phones)

And at the end before they even realize it, the time will be very late and they will be feeling sleepy and at the end they won't even read a single page from their books which always makes me wonder what they even write in the exams.

Also most of the times when I have finished writing my article in my phone notebook 📒 and when I buy a little data so as to use and publish the article, but speak of the devil immediately I turn on my data and start receiving notifications especially Facebook notifications.

And once I decide to check it out then immediately go back to Steemit, before I even realize it I have already scroll pass like 50 reels and 100 post and before I know it my data is gone

So for that reason you can clearly see the level of distraction that a mobile phone has most especially when you plan on doing something very important.

Generally I see no reason why students should be allowed to use phones in schools because all the basic knowledge the wish to acquire is in the school library and all the have to do is always find time to read.

And stopping students from using phones in schools may cause more good than bad, because generally they are some students who are very lazy in reading and such a student will be relying on quick answers like Google searche.

So not allowing students to use phones in schools will help motivate them to study hard and improve their total reading hours which will turn out to be of great benefits to them both in their academic performance as well as their lives generally in the sphere of literacy in various fields of study.

Conclusion

This will be the end of my entry and I sincerely hope that my little point of view has been able to convince you that students shouldn't be allowed to use phones in schools so that it won't serve as a means of distraction and diversion of their academic focus.
