How are you all doing today I hope all is well and you all are in perfect health and enjoying your day, well as for me I'm perfectly fine and also in good health.

And I'm so delighted to welcome you all to this week's engagement challenge hosted here in the hindwhales community which is titled "Childhood trauma and incidents: how do they affect our children's life? "

Most children around the world have been so unfortunate to experience the most traumatizing life encounter which has at some point affected them mentally and sometimes psychologically.

What Are The Problems Faced By Children, & Which Are All Childhood Traumas?

Children who are by nature build with a sensitive mentality and mindset which is primarily meant to observe and learn from both the elders and their experiences in life.

But in some cases this sensitive mentality has often adopted a wrong kind of lesson which in turn tends to weigh them down in thought and depression caused by an encounter that is being graded as trauma's.

And according to domestic studies and research some of the basic childhood trauma's are;

• Sexual abuse
• Community or school abuse
• Domestic violence

Sexual Abuse

This is mostly common and found in female children who are unfortunate enough to experience a force upon sexual encounter with an adult, this brings the greatest traumas to children and in most cases due to the level of depression that comes along with it most of them might even think of suicide as their only option which is very wrong.

Community Or School Abuse

Community Or School abuse is a kind of abuse which a child experience in schools or from the people in their community, this kind of trauma brings timidity, shyness, mental backwardness etc.

Domestic Violence

This is also the most common type of trauma that children experience, and the worse part of it is that it comes in various forms and types, and which ever form it comes it devastate a child's mind with distractions mostly lost in thoughts and such children are most likely to perform poorly academically.

How To Protect Children From Social Bullying?

There's no definite or absolute way of protecting a child from social bullying unless you wish to prevent the child from mixing and relating with other kids which will in turn also affect the child in future.

Meanwhile some of the basic things that may help prevent and reduce social bullying in children are;

• Using our age influence to frighten the bully so as to stop bullying
• As adults it is our responsibility to supervise their social relations with others so as to control bullies
• Another way is to help build a child's self confidence
• Educating the children about bullying might help them to be prepared for the social realm of bullies

How To Educate Our Children About Good Touch And Bad Touch?

In this case I think it would be more better since kids are involved to talk about safe and unsafe touching rather than good or bad touching, which by so doing will help remove guilt from their mind and keeps them from making any form of moral distinction about what is and what is not appropriate.

Also take note that you can discuss body safety without discussing sexuality with age appreciate wordings.

Some of the various ways to educate children about good touch and bad touch are;

• Letting the kids know the traditional names of body part especially in native languages
• Educating the kids about body privacy
• Engaging the child in such communication right from the early stage
• Teaching them what their responses should be when ever someone tries to use bad touch

What Do We Have To Sacrifice To Raise A Good Child?

Now this is a very tricky question but let me just say my mind, the sacrifices in other to be able to raise a good child are for the meantime let's put capital (funds/money) aside for now.

The sacrifices in raising a good child is "time", yes time! The reason why I said so is that the time we choose to spend with our kids is very important and necessary because it is within those time that we will teach them all the need to know about life, it is through the time we spend with them that we can use to listen to their inner most problems and by so doing provide solution

It is with the time we choose to spend with them that gives room to communication which in turn promotes parents and child relationship and lastly it is with the time we chooyto spend with them that we can use to carry out our parental responsibilities in teaching them the general morals of life.

Conclusion

There's a reason why I said that children have sensitive minds in which both negative and positive things can easily influence them so as parents it is our sole responsibility to protect them because they are the future leaders.
