My Watercolour Painting Series 1

I had rescued the moment by using my camera and in that way had found how to stop time and hold it. No one could take that image away from me because I owned it. Alice Sebold

Today after service, I decided to do a bit of practice with my brushes and colours, it been a while i explored hem. My focus was solely on colours on paper.

After going through my stuffs, I met with my lil sony camera which was covered with dust because i didn't use it in a while. I preferred shooting with phone. An idea struck me, so i decided to embark on a monochrone tour with my materials.

Monochrome with a touch of yellow will do.
As i sat on my stool to start working, i turned my music with the song walking away by Craig David and continuously nodded my head to the flow of the beats and wordings. The major colours was just black and yellow.

I made a quick sketch with my pencil. Then i began smearing the colours across the paper. I did use the wash technique for a greater part of the work, mostly for the background and a few other places.

After two hours of endless work, I was done. For the background i gave it a dripping effect with the black colour.

There are many photographers on this platform which if i start tagging, i might not able to exhaust the list. So this dedicated to all whaleshare photographers and even beyond.

People spot a big black lens, and they worry about what they're doing, or how their hair looks. Nobody see the person holding the camera....... Erica O'Rourke

Keep making the moments count, freeze the time when you feel like and create memorable photos.

I like that light in the lens! It looks great :) In the past I also preferred taking photos with my smartphone but then I realized that I wanted to be able to do some post processing in whatever tool I would choose which is a bit difficult in the format that is provided by the smartphone so I started to use my camera and now I'm happy that I took this decision :) It just feels different to take photos with camera :)

Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!

A photo taken with a camera feels so goof and the quality is extremely high compared to that of a smartphone. I do know that feeling and i am happy that you took that step

That yellow spot on your sketch took it on an another level. I like, whenever I see a whole process of making an art work.

In just 2 hours you made it that's great! @promzyelisha

Yeah
2hours is nothing, i have made an art work that lasted for about a week plus. I needed something close to realism and so i needed enough time to work out the details.
Art is patience ...hahah
thanks for dropping by

That Camera looks amazing, I specially love the coloring of the lens. It looks shiny even in the picture, how amazing that it looks real life while its on a paper.

Congrats on your Curie :)

Thanks dear
Everything looks better in real life.

You are super talented and how you described what and how you did it sounds so simple, but I know it isn't. The finished product looks superb and love how you got the glint of light on the lens.

I see many people admire the glint of light on the lense, i never knew it would attract alot of attention. Thanks for the compliment, well appreciated.

Those words are perfectly put together to express something we do when we take a photo. Wonderful.
And wonderful is your watercolor! It's an interesting subject, I've never seen a watercolor painting of a camera, maybe pencil drawing. I love the monochrome colors and a bit of gold sparkle symbolizing the light. Well done!

Thanks so much Erikah for that fabulous comment. Yeah, the shiny effect made it perfect. There wasn't something like that in the reference photo, but creativity does maks it better.

My pleasure.
