Rules are meant to be Broken...
Hey everyone, good day
Today I am going to share some parts of my life. Well not everything but a little bit interesting journey of my life...

I belong from a very conservative family well, my parents were not that much conservative but my grandparents , my relatives were really conservative and I was the first born child of my entire family. So pressure was always there because my grandmother always wanted that first born child should be a boy not a girl. This was a typical family mentality but it's okay. But my mom never differentiate between boy and girl because she used to think that a girl can be precious, a girl also can fulfill her dream.
My first step was education, my mom was very much careful about my education and because of her now I am an Architect. My entire family even my dad was against this profession because my dad's desire was her daughter will be a doctor not that girl , who works with brick, cement and reinforcement... Lol... But my only support was my mother... Every step of my life she used to support me saying that one day you will prove everyone wrong.. Well, I was able to fulfill my mother's dream but she couldn't see that because she was out of this world. But I know she feels really proud for me....

After my graduation, there was a pressure of getting married but I wanted to build my carrier. So, despite of all problems I decided to do job for experience and basically I wanted to enter into professional life. That was my second big step of my life where I broke rules of my family for not getting married...Boring right...
My final step was shifting myself from Bangladesh to Ukraine for higher education, for post graduation. It took me a lot of courage to do that because I struggled a lot. I fight with myslef, fight with my family and many more incidents happened....
But ............. Rules are meant to be broken........

Yes rules are meant to be broken. it is not an easy path to follow, but you must follow your heart.
In my early career I helped many young women get into non-traditional jobs. Even in the USA it was not that long ago it was difficult to break down those barriers. Today it is easier, but not without some struggle.

A bold move to the Ukraine. Now what? How to change the world and be part of the solution? Are you working in special areas of architecture? How has being an architect shaped your contribution to the world? We'd like to know more about how you're helping to make the word a better place.
