My PhotoVisions #36 - Enjoying the weather of a submarine crew...

Today I decided to share something totally different than I used to... so I put this to My PhotoVisions series as a 'curiosity'.

Very distant object on the waters of Baltic sea, near the coastline of Gdansk, appeared to be a submarine. I made the shots from a ferry to Sweden after leaving port in Gdynia.

I used my 300mm lens to shoot. I wasn't sure about the thing but after zooming in I saw an upper part of the boat. I loved the view - it was something I never seen before, I saw submarine in a port but never on an open sea. The moodines of the picture is rised up by the view of very distant power plants and cranes in Gdansk harbour.

After watching the picture in a full screen at home I made fantastic discovery. That time, in full sun light, on a small screen of a camera, I haven't seen, that the whole crew of submarine is standing on the ship! More than a 30 people standing and enjoying the morning sun and fresh air, maybe after many days under water they need some extra shot of sun light into their veins...

Pictures like this gives me many different feelings and thoughts... how it like to be the crew member of such ship, how long they can be under the sea, where they are swimming... Submarines are one of the most mysteries ships for me, I am really happy that I could be a vitness of such scene and moment. I am sending the big greetings to all that people on the ship! Good luck guys, I hope You wont have to fight in a real war!
