OPERATION MEALWORM UPDATE - MISSION COMPLETED
If you caught my post last Saturday on OPERATION MEALWORM then you already know what it is. For those of you who did not, @timbo had put out a request for assistance the night prior, because his pets were in desperate need of food.
Not knowing where else to turn, he turned to the steemit community.
@timbo needed some food for his pet spiders, and had no money or gas. I saw his help request post and asked if he thought that they might eat mealworms. He said they would, so I said I'd ship some over as quick as I could.
As soon as the pet store opened the next morning, I was there, purchasing the very last of their mealworms to ship to @timbo... I just hoped that they would arrive in time.
I packaged them carefully, dropped them off at the Post Office and waited. The ETA was Tuesday.
But Tuesday came and went, and so did Wednesday and Thursday. Finally on Friday, I got the news! The mealworms had landed!
@timbo had received the package... but we still had to see what the spiders thought!
Thankfully, the mealworms had arrived in edible condition and the spiders agreed!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
OPERATION MEALWORM WAS A SUCCESS!!!

His spiders we so hungry, they even fought over the food!

As I reflect on the situation, I am blessed to be a part of community that will even help feeds it's members spiders! If you haven't seen the post from @timbo yet, please head over there, read his side of the story, and give him an upvote for making these excellent gifs featuring the spiders he caught and the mealworms I sent him!

HUNGRY SPIDERS!
They sure were!!!
@papa-pepper.... your hair makes me happy :)
but the spider pics..... do not make me happy. LOLOLOL i honestly had to scroll past them VERY fast... (shiver)
Sad to hear that!
Sorry about that @dreemsteem, I forget how many people don't like spiders.
If it helps, to date because of these spiders, I have cured 3 people of arachnophobia, just by teaching them about spiders, helping them understand their habits, and even letting them hold them.
I hope one day you no longer get the shivers from them, as they are more afraid of you I promise :)
i don't believe you! hahahahaha there is no way they are more afraid of me - than i am of them! blahhhhhhhhhhhh i will have the shivers all day now! hahahahaha
Ahh haha! Sorry about that. :{
Maybe they aren't more afraid of you in this case. ;)
Glad to hear that!

And that's how legends are born.
The first spider rescue services was started way back when, now they rescue spiders all around the globe, and the world is a creepier place because of it.
@pappa-pepper will always be revered for his efforts at rescuing the first lot of spiders.
Back then they didn't have a full team of combat veterans, helicopters and big 4 wheel drives and the budget of a small country - just @pappa-papper and the Post Office.
But he go the job done, and those spiders are alive today because of the tireless, self sacrifices he made.
Now whenever you see a spider waving his first legs in the air, you know what they're saying - thank you @pappa-pepper, we owe you.
Incredible... Insane, but incredible...
Well done!!
