HOW WE MILK OUR GOAT
These days, Pinkie-Pepper pretty much does all the work!
To give you all a general idea of how we get milk for our family, I figured that I'd record the @little-peppers milking Daisy this morning. There is not a lot of commentary, as it pretty much speaks for itself. Enjoy the video!
THE HOW WE MILK OUR GOAT VIDEO
IT'S A BLESSING
For us, having a trustworthy source for things like milk means a lot. Until we moved down to the Ozarks, we had never even tried goat milk. Now, we drink it almost daily. This allows us to have an animal that we love which also serves a purpose, like mowing the lawn and blessing us with milk. Also, it has given @mama-pepper some inspiration in the kitchen as she explores homemade yogurts, puddings, and other delicious things.
For the @little-peppers, it teaches them a lot about responsibility and animal husbandry. When we eat cereal in the morning, it's with the milk that Pinkie-Pepper milked out of our own goat. If we have eggs instead, they are the ones that the @little-peppers collected from our own poultry. It's very nice to be this connected to the things around us, like our food supply. Be blessed!

Wow what a lovely post and pinkie-pepper couldn’t look happier! Years ago I experiened strong tasting goat milk and was put off it but since I learned that when males are kept separate from the ladies the milk Is much much sweeter I have enjoyed it greatly. Goat cheese is also really delicious! Thanks @papa-pepper for another beautiful video.
Yes sir also tested of goat cheese it has so delicious !

We didn't go the milk goat or cow route, but our kids raised their own chickens and pigs, so they knew exactly where bacon and eggs came from. 99% of American kids do not have that connection and that sense of reality. And that is something that has stuck with them and made them better adults, in some ways, then their peers.
Yeah, it'll stick with them. Thanks @armadilloman!
@little-peppers are pretty amazing!!! 😘😍
sir milk is my fav. and cute baby..nice concept
thanks for share..
goats are fun but hard to contain.
What sweet little helpers. Are they always so quiet?! My little girl talks my ear off...unless she's on camera. Then she's a mute. Wonderful teaching and life skills. I've never tried goat milk. I'm missing my cow milk right now. We have our dairy cow with the bulls. 😫 It's going to be a while...
@papa-pepper The Sweetest Milk in the World and the @little-peppers benefiting from their Skills at a young Age..............Thank you for Sharing....
My wife loves this. Not sure I do... I want sheep, not goats! Haha! Keep rockin', man!
What kind of sheep are you thinking? We've got both, and wouldn't have it any other way.
Thinking of the Katahdins. Looking for milk and a bit of meat, but really no interest in the wool. Last time I checked there were some breeders around here. Really I think any hair sheep bred for milking. What do you all have?
Why not sir..
Well done kiddos! Homesteads are a wonderful and rewarding environment to raise children.
