An Introduction To The Steemit Community from Ian - Who Rants A Lot.

Hi to all

My name is Ian and I'm excited to have found the Steemit community, although it’s taken me a while to make my first post (I think I joined in 2016.) I'm 48 and live and work in England as a Behavioural Change Therapist, predominantly working with people who have a substance dependency and Mental Health needs. I know doodle-squat about the block-chain and less about crypto-currency but, having seen the excellent content here on Steemit, I'm going to make a real effort to get up to speed. If any of you can recommend some good starting places that would be great. (I've read the Steemit guides but that's about as far as I've got.)

Given that I am about as knowledgeable as Donald Trump's stylist, you may be wondering why I'm here. Well, it's because I'm no longer willing to put up with centrally controlled social media that manipulates what and who I can engage with, and only shares my content with those its administrators choose. I’m looking for somewhere that openly shares good content, rather than censors it. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Steemit community so I hope I can contribute something to it. From what I’ve seen already I know I’m going to learn a lot.

Censorship and manipulation of the content infuriates me because I am one of those crazy conspiracy theorists (yes, I have a kangaroo loose in the top paddock.) I’m angry about the lies we are told by our so called political leaders and the mainstream media. I need to vent my ire but don’t see why I should accept the restricted freedoms offered by other social media platforms.

My much better half tells me that it will be good for me to get this stuff off my chest and that we can't afford any more smashed TV's. In my defence, as an old crusty punk, I've always enjoyed ranting and, as John Lydon said, "anger is an energy." Though it is only a positive energy if you choose to let it inspire, rather than dictate your actions. Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty affable bloke, love spending time with friends and family (apart from my cousin Terry who still owes me £50) and enjoy life. I believe we are all in this together, there is far more that unites than divides us, and sovereign human being deserve freedom, dignity and respect. Which is why I am opposed to the tiny cabal of banksters who own this planet, control everything 'officials' and the 'politicians' tell us, use the mainstream media as there own personal, global propaganda machine and manipulate geopolitics for their own interests.

I know, I know! Not another crazy, myopic, deluded conspiracy theorist? The thing is, I totally get what you mean. A few years ago I thought all this stuff about false flag terrorism and financial manipulation was preposterous bilge. However, when someone I respect advised me to take a fresh look, I realised there was a lot of evidence we simply never get told anything about. I was intrigued, did a bit of research, and am now convinced we are being lied to on a monumental scale.

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but, if you are interested, I’ve offered some links below I hope you will find informative.

• For an introduction to what's wrong with our monetary system check out Positive Money.
• To get an idea of who is pulling the strings please watch these outstanding documentaries by the brilliant James Corbett.
• For an insight into the false paradigm we are given, please take a look at the Four Horseman.
• If your interested in getting an alternative take on the news, why not give the UK Column a try?
• For an insight into 9/11 have a look at 'A Decade of Deception.'
• If finding out what really happened on 7/7 interests you then try the outstanding documentaries of Tom Secker found on his site HERE - Seeds of Decontruction and HERE -Crime and Prejudice.

I don’t know much, ‘truth’ is as elusive for me as it is for anyone else, but I do know just enough to recognise how much I have to learn. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to peruse my inane ramblings. I hope to offer a lot more for you to avoid in the future.

It's great to be here and I look forward to getting to know some of you soon.

All the best

Ian

Thanks for the upvote. Great post really helpful. Will definitely act on your advice and am looking at the Steemplus addon now. Many thanks.

You are on the right platform Ian! Most of us here would be considered as "conspiracy theorists" by mainstream outlets

Good to know though I hope I'm not preaching to the converted. All the best

While I have to admit I'm not much into conspiracy theories I do believe there is a real need for bloggers like yourself who could balance, at least to a certain extent, the bias that stems from the media and infiltrates almost every human mind on the planet.
Welcome to Steemit and best of luck Ian!

Thanks. You sound like a very open minded person. Give a Decade of Deception (link in post) a go if you have time. It is a film of a scientific conference held in Toronto in 2011 that examined the evidence surrounding 9/11 in objective, scientific detail. You may be surprised.

Will do, thanks!

Welcome to steemit @oyddodat.have fun and enjoy ur stay!:)
