How to achieve success?

Achieving success is one of the expectations that most human beings have, but not everyone knows how to achieve it. It depends on each person, what they do about it.

To achieve success we have to work.

We often get the impression that people who are very successful simply get things done.
They're very lucky and everything works out for them.

This is hardly ever the case.
What happens is that we only see one part.
We don't see their work, their problems, their failures.

To be successful, we need to be willing to pay the price that success demands.
We have to be consistent and willing to devote the effort, time and energy that success requires.

In addition, what we are looking for, what we call success, needs to be something important to us.
Only in this way will we remain motivated despite the problems and difficulties that always arise, because they are part of life.
If it is important to us, we will overcome any obstacles and reach the desired goal.

Therefore, it is very important that, if you want to succeed, you are very clear about what success means to you, what you know, what you want.

Achievable goals.

An achievable goal is one that we can achieve.
It's in our hands to get to her.
We may need time, help, some skills, etc. but we can do it.

There are goals that may be very easy for other people to reach, but not for us.
For example, if we don't have a facility for math or languages, sports, etc., there will be certain activities that we will be able to do, but in which we will never stand out.

That doesn't make us any better or worse than anyone else.
It simply shows that we have a facility for certain things, where we can be successful and difficult for others, where, if they are important, we need to seek help.

The problem in setting goals and seeking success in certain areas is related to different types of self-esteem.

A person with good self-esteem is more likely to be successful because:

• He has confidence in himself and this attitude allows him to move forward, despite the normal problems and failures of any situation,

• is flexible and when he makes a mistake he corrects it,

• if you need help, look for him.

A person with low self-esteem is less likely to succeed because:

• He doesn't risk it, for fear of failure,

• tends to set very high goals, to prove to others and herself her "worth as a person".

• in the face of problems or obstacles, is easily discouraged.

Importance of the action.

One of the main causes of the lack of success is that goals often remain desires, plans or dreams, because we do not carry out all the necessary behaviors to achieve them.

Some of the main reasons are:

• We are not motivated enough to make the necessary effort,

• are not well planned and we get "lost" along the way,

• we don't know what to do or how to do it,

• we want immediate results,

• etc.

But the main cause is our attitude to life.

We have two choices before life and before the things we want.
Take an attitude:

• Active
  or
• reactive.

When our attitude is active, we act to make things happen the way we want them to happen.
When it is reactive, we wait passively for things to happen, to see how we can or must react to them and if we do not need to, we simply let them go.

Almost always, successful people belong to the first group, because they seek, provoke and maintain it, while people who belong to the second usually end up dissatisfied, complaining and looking for someone to blame for what happens to them.

What is the time needed?

Each activity requires a different amount of time, but when two people do the same activity, they may need a different amount of time.
This does not mean that one is better or worse than the other, it simply means that the way they work is different.

Most of the time, the result we obtain is more important than the time it takes to achieve it, as long as it is not unnecessarily or exaggeratedly prolonged.

However, when talking about time, successful people know that they need to develop certain characteristics:

Staying self-motivated.

We can not always find external reinforcers, which motivate us in the short and medium term while we carry out a project, so the motivation must be internal.

In this sense we must learn to:

• Postpone gratuities,

• to tolerate frustration,

• to see "failures" as what they are, mistakes that help us to change the path.

To see adversity, problems or obstacles as challenges in the middle of the road.

Don't focus on the problems, don't look for the culprits.
To look for alternatives and solutions, seeing each difficult situation as an opportunity to learn.

Persevere.

Finish what we started, looking to get satisfaction from what we are doing and not just focus on the result we want to achieve.
