Hi guys and welcome to another beautiful day, a new year almost upon us and if this was an examination settings, the word been used will be.

Dot your I’s and cross your T, prepare to hand over your papers.

Well this is life and same might be said but then not all will be able to understand the message.

Just a day to go, with different users trying to round up ongoing projects hoping to enter a new project this coming year, a project can be anything, work, house decoration or trying to seal that day, well whatever it is, good luck all the way and best of luck in the coming year.

Speaking about 2018, it seems gaming actually generated a lot of profit and looking at Fortnite, a free to play game generated say $3billion profit, makes one wonder if free to play games are actually the game deals*.

The issue of developers providing games for free or gamers purchasing more games to support developers is not a new one and different users probably have a thing or two to say about this topic, while others might go for it, others might not agree as well.

But whatever seems to be the case, this coming year, we might just begin to see great changes in upcoming games and one have to wonder if the same strategy applied by epic games aka the developers of Fortnite will be employed or used by other game developers.

Yea gaming should be all about the fun, putting smile on users face and also trying to bring the inanimate to existence or simply creating a kind of imaginative view in the minds of gamers but then, game developers do need the funds to finance other projects they have in mind or continue to support games they already developed.

Few days back, we saw a game which could no longer further development due to low or not enough fund and for that reason they decided to stop further updates from coming in. Although, gamers can still enjoy the game and get in matches but they wouldn’t expect any changes coming to the game anytime soon and with that, we all know what would happen next.

We have seen it happen on many other games before now, when a game is no longer updated, the number of users who tends to play such games begin to decrease gradually, even though the game is actually free to play, and when such game is actually battle royale based, it just makes it all things all the more complicated.

Meaning, you would probably log in and get in a match, only to wait for say hours without getting any other player and when such continues over time, definitely the interest to log into the game will no longer be there and with time, such game will begin to die off or fade off just like Avengers infinity war, after Thanos snapped his fingers XD.

Going back to the issue of game and funds generating,

Fortnite is a free to play battle royale base game, which by now, if you been following my blog post, you probably heard about it once or twice.

Fortnite is first-person shooter base game available across multiple consoles, where players will have to battle others in a solo or team match and the last man standing at the end of each rounds win the game, you will be tasked to kill other players or simply evade others and ensure you are always in the player zone, other caught outside will be killed.

Unlike other battle royale base game, take player unknown battleground for example, were players are presented with mean of transporting from a location to another, Fortnite doesn’t come with such. Although, players will be able to travel in a faster using different equipment at their disposal by simply improvising, that is with the use of air gliders you will be able to float and move faster when you jump from a high position but also provide an easy target to other users currently at the ground.

The game is all about you and how you can multitask yourself by defending with the use of walls and also offence at same time using different arsenals at your disposal.

The game was seen to generate $3 billion profit from the start of the year 2018 till date and it seems most of the money or profit was generated from the sales of game costumes or call them game skins, which gives players different looks and the best or fun part is that, unlike most games that probably gives you higher power when you make such in-game purchases, Fortnite don’t come with such, the skins are just to beautify your characters and nothing more.

Making the game more fun to play and probably one of the best games that follow the fair game policy system.

That been said, with such huge amount generated from the selling of game skins and also making your game free to play across all consoles, we might just begin to see other games following the same path coming the year 2019.

Well, if that’s the case, that will be great to the gaming community and also bring in more gamers who are unable to purchase most games due to the high price tag allocated to them.

Comparing most games developed between 1990 till 2018, you will agree with me that, gaming changed a lot during this time, games that you could purchase with a cent can’t be gotten for that amount anymore, but rather $20 and above is usually the price allocated to most games been developed now even when they don’t have much to offer that warrant to that price, they still put a high price tag there.

Often time, we saw games developers have to re-adjust the price that was initially placed on their game to meet profit due to low purchases from such games.

Some games even went as far to make games more of DLC packages and seasons, meaning for each season, a new DLC pack will be available and to get such files, you would have to pay for it, which might be almost same as the original game price.

Just have to hope, 2019 brings something new to the table and such gaming experiences and high amount placed on games would be seen that often as compared to 2018 and previous years before now.
