Non Sepia Saturday Post
This afternoon I saw an interesting post of @old-guy-photos.
I liked how he edited his photos and when I checked the #sepiasaturday tag there were many beautiful photos.
It was easy to find some suitable shots in my head and I was confident that this will be an easy task. I know my photos.
I was not in the hurry to write the post and when I opened my computer I easily find the photos I had in mind.
Another 10 minutes and I'll be good, right?
Wrong!
When I opened my photo editor surprise, surprise:
Ten color filters with funny names, but sepia?
Nope.
I must be missing something.
Oh, I have a fancy and smart Samsung with even more filters.
No sign of sepia.
I must be stupid. Please enlighten me and don't save words or be polite.
Hit me.
Here my selection for the sepia contest without the sepia filter.
Take it or leave it.
Sorry guys.
Maybe next Saturday.
Have a great weekend.
Oh thanks for the mention!
I use Gimp because it is free and open source. https://www.gimp.org/
Here are a few video tutorials I made showing how easy it is to do sepia.
Most of my photos come off my phone....LOL... I know... I know, but that is what I usually have with me. Fortunately some of my older family photos that I have been using for sepia were scanned in.
When I download them to the default photo program on my windows, it doesn't exactly have sepia, but it has a filter called sunscreen which gets it close, but sometimes a little dark. I can adjust that with the color slide.
Before I knew I could make that work, Old Guy suggested GIMP which is a free to download editor. It takes a couple of steps once you drag your photo there, but it's pretty easy and has lots of other fun things to play with.
I use Picasa for photo editing among other apps, that has sepia option and it's pretty good filter. I would recommend Pixlr, which is also good to do edits and both are free. Pixlr has many sepia and monochrome filters.
However, I like these photos that you've uploaded as they are. They look better as they are 🙂
Thank you very much.
My pleasure, I hope you can find an app that works for you and participate in whatever challenge you like. I have a challenge called #monocolorsepia, in which you post all three versions: black and white, color and sepia. The main idea is to see which one looks better. Buildings for example usually look better in black and white, old things look better using a sepia filter, nature looks better as it is.
The beauty of editing is to find the best filter.
Anyway, sorry for the long reply, enjoy your editing process and have a nice weekend 😊
@oldtimer, I am interested more in second picture because in my opinion the second picture captured an unique effect and that is, it's reflecting as Sun is born with foggy tale and sun also reflecting as huge light ball.

Efekat Sepia isprobala sam prvi put pre desetak godina koristeći program IrfanView.
Thank you.
Howdy sir oldtimer! Sorry that was a frustrating start for you on sepia but it looks by the comments that you got alot of help. I love the photos you included here, wonderful!
That was my intention. I'm learning every day here on steemit.
