Damselflies: Deep Blue
To start off a small series on damselflies in The Netherlands: the banded demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens), weidebeekjuffer in Dutch.
These pretty blue creatures are usually found near streams and rivers, where they like to sit on vegetation in the water just out of reach of the camera; they are also quite skittish. Some patience is required to get photos of these:

Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f8, 1/200s

The females are a metallic green:

Very beauty photo. Good job brother
Pretty, but a but scary looking.
Fortunately, they're not all that big.
HOW you get so close, to get that incredible detail is beyond me. Then again, that's why you are master of the winged bug.
I move very slowly when approaching them; think T'ai Chi in slow-motion. Or sometimes I just sit there and wait for one to come near.
Dragonflies are very pretty, I really like to see its...thanks...friend
