Butterflies: Small White
The small white (Pieris rapae), klein koolwitje in Dutch, is widespread and found across Europe, North Africa, and Asia. It makes do without exotic colours.
It has been introduced accidentally to North America and Australia, where the caterpillar is seen as a pest for agriculture. They call this caterpillar "imported cabbageworm", which illustrates how much they know.
To show how little I know: this butterfly is easily confused with the large white and the summer form of the green-veined white, and I may have misidentified some of the butterflies in the photos below.
BTW the first shot is one of my favourite butterfly photos.

Previous in series: Speckled Wood.
I can see why that first one is a favorite! They are all fantastic shots, though, and beautiful little butterflies!
Thank you! I was lucky; that first one sat still until I got the right angle.
Delightfully light. Always love how your creatures are part of your whole composition @ocrdu. 🦋
Thanks! I got bored with straight-up macrophotography a long time ago; I like a bit of context.
Nice. Around here we call it the Cabbage White.
What do you call the large white (Pieris brassicae)?
Plain, but pretty at the same time.
Your photos look pretty good, I see you took them from far away, 300mm, nice! :D
About a meter away, I think. These are too skittish to get closer to.
Yes, they fly away once they detect motion around them.
