Practice Makes...You Better

I never really understood the phrase practice makes perfect when at the same time everyone was telling me there is no such thing as perfect.

And there really is no such thing as perfect. Especially when it comes to art. While some people might look at that as there is always something wrong... I prefer to see it as there is always something to improve. And that’s what I aim for with my sketches. I know every time I am getting better.

This first hand sketch is from last year sometime while the other is one I finished last night. I find full figure drawing a little daunting, but I do like to sketch hands sometimes. I haven’t practiced in awhile so I thought I would try again this week. I only notice a few things I’ve gotten better at, but I have improved overall. My sketches are nowhere near perfect but that’s quite alright with me. I’ve come a long way from my little cartoons that I started off with.
