What are your thoughts on Steem Monsters card delegations?

in #steemmonsters5 years ago

So earlier today I was reading on the Steem Monsters Discord that delegations will be rolled out in the next day or two. There was some healthy discussion on expected pricing for delegations in the Mavs channel. The common view was that delegation prices should be equivalent to paying out the investment of the card over either 2 or 3 years. So for a investment of any card, you should expect to have a full return on your investment in around 2 or 3 years.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this something you would be interested in, either as an investor or delegatee? I’d be curious to see how much interest there is out there to actually delegate cards.

In case you haven’t yet checked out Steem Monsters, it’s not too late to get started and join in the fun. You can go here to get started. You can earn a nice little income with just a small investment by earning reward cards through daily quests or participating in the numerous tournaments held each day.

I feel like card delegations could swing either way. Card prices could go up a lot as there's more utility in holding cards. Contrarily, if players feel like they'd rather just rent cards they might start selling their collections and thus card prices will fall. I guess we'll have to see!

However, if I could rent out my cards and get a return in about 2 years time, I'd be very happy to use my profits to buy more cards!

Yes, I totally agree. I would like to see the prices for leasing cards to be a bit higher around the 2 year return mark. If that’s the case, I’d be happy to delegate out some cards. Otherwise, if more than a 3 year return, perhaps there might be a lot of selling which may lead to a downward spiral in prices.
