It is alive - the sock sequel 2 for needleworkmonday and googlyeyes

Sock sequel 2 title.png

Not much knitting this week – more big eyes. I so wanted to participate in the #googlyeyes contest. I already had some of these funny eyes which I used for a simple toy some years ago. But I also wanted to write a nice #needleworkmonday post, with lots of funny ideas, finished items or a tutorial. But no.
In the last week was not much time for knitting and if there was time I was too agitated to concentrate for longer. I think I already have written this in some comments – my father is ill and a very close friend either. And I must admit I am not very good in coping with such things. I tend to ruminate and imagine all the bad things which could happen. No lucky place for me. But also, the time was filled with visiting doctors and helping my parents.

Nevertheless, I proceeded on my stripy socks. And I think I invented a new kind of heel. I name it the box heel, as it is completely square (yes, you are right… I did something wrong in the short row section and so my sock is made for a robot foot :-DDD)
I am now at the last section of the sock, the decreases… and look – my sock has come alive. Now it is constantly chatting. It told me it loooves bubble gum, but only the pink variety which taste of strawberry and that it does not like to be soaked in water. It wants me to knit a friend very fast and too placate it, I conjured up this little heart box to keep it company.

And a ‘sorry’ in advance. I am not sure if I can read and comment on all your wonderful posts or answer all your lovely comments in time, because of the aforementioned problems.

Sort:

hehe.... that's an unusually shaped heel indeed :D but it does add well to the character here ;)

hope your dad and friend will recover well and soon.

thanks for sharing this post with #GooglyEyes!

Sigh, the heel.... I am not sure if I should make the second sock the same or if I should try to find the mistake and correct it...
And thank you so much for your well wishing. I so hope there will be some help for my dad, but for my friend there is only praying and beeing there for her.
Thank you for organizing this super fun contest <3

Hehe so cute!! Love the googlyeyes on the socks with the red nose! The socks look really interesting with the heel. Keke. But I do love the colours, pink and brown makes them look very deliciously strawberry and chocolate.. yummmm :)
Sorry to hear about your dad and friend. I wish them speedy recovery. And to you too, take care of yourself.

I love your socks. Knitting socks is on my wish list for this year. I pray that you will be a pillar of strength for your father as he goes through this season of illness.

Oooooh, my dear !!!! what a pity!!!! I wish you have a lot of strength to support your family and be an encouragement for your father. May the Most High God strengthen you !!!! it is good that you continue knitting - this will help you to relieve stress and tension. your socks are bright and beautiful and very funny with these eyes. it's good that you made him a big-eyed friend - a friend is a great support !!! :)

Before I go all crazy over this adorable sock friend let me say I am sorry to hear about your father. I sure hope he gets over this soon and it’s nothing permanent. I tend to get worked up and worried when my parents lay ill, it’s not fun. I hope as well that your friend will be okay. Prayers for both of them!

I love your cute little sock friend. It seems he came right on time to keep you company and maybe even ease your thoughts during this time. I also want to add that although you mentioned you made a mistake in the short row section I actually love the square look! I’ve always loved wearing those toe socks and crazy colored socks so these fit right in to my liking! 😄

Thank you so much for participating in the ’Make your needlework come to life’ Challenge! Your sock is adorable ~ 💗

Your socks made me smile. How does the heel fit? Is it comfortable? I love the colours, they enhance each other so well :)
