UEFA Champions League - Part 30
The 1984-85 Champions League was the 30th version of this tournament. It was held between 19 September 1984 and 29 May 1985.
32 clubs competed in the tournament. 61 matches were played with 186 goals scored. An average of 3.05 goals per match.
Four clubs were able to qualify to the semi-finals of the tournament; Juventus, Liverpool, Bordeaux and Panathinaikos.
The final game of the tournament was held in Stade du Heysel, Brussels, in 29 May 1985 between Juventus and Liverpool. The Italian team was able to win the the game with a full score of 1-0. Juventus clinched their first European title.
The top goalscorer of the tournament was given to Torbjörn Nilsson from IFK Göteborg and Michel Platini from Juventus with 7 goals scored by each one of them.
