The herculean task
We had this most difficult task at hand in my new home. A 3 seater sofa had to be taken up to the terrace, we had to move it up by 2 floors and the space is not very big to move it take it up comfortably. I was worried when I got it made that how it would be taken up to the terrace. The carpenter had assessed the area and assured me that it will be done without any hassle, but I still had my doubts. When the furniture arrived, at that time then everyone started getting worried as to how to shift it up 2 floors.
We definitely needed extra hands to do the job. Thankfully I had some people doing other jobs in the house and I requested them to help me, which they agreed to do and that gave me some relief. Even after that to take up the thing was not an easy task. 5 men got to the job and slowly gradually the sofa was taken up to the terrace and then I had a complete relief. None of the other furniture had any issues to be carried up except for this particular one.
You can see the space is narrow and it is difficult to make turns, these guys are skilled in doing such jobs so they slowly kept moving up.
I was anticipating that they were going to damage something or the other but then nothing as such happened and it went up.
This was the most difficult part to turn it at the bends
Finally, it's got to it's place.
For this particular task I had kept the painting on hold, now that this is done the final painting work will start from today and hopefully in a week's time it will be completed.

Oh my goodness - moving furniture is ALWAYS such a mammoth task @nainaztengra, especially if the space you are moving it into does not have standard size doors etc. I find that I tend to get the giggles in situations like that, which is never good haha - because then I just go weak at the knees and everything goes crashing down lol!
Exciting though... to get something new! I assume it is a new sofa?! Would love to see it unwrapped an in its new "home" :D
It's already unwrapped but a little fixing is needed, which would all get completed next week. Some of these things can really give you nerves. At the time of purchasing I did not pay much of attention to the size thinking it will pass easily but then when it arrived I had jitters.
Thankfully all is done now :-)
I actually went through something similar about a year and a half ago when we moved... Having chosen the couch in the store which was a very large space - and I also did not take any measurements... so thought it would be fine, but when it arrived I nearly had a heart attack because it was so huge! lol Thankfully it did fit though.
So yes @nainaztengra, I totally understand those nerves haha!!
