Weekend cooking
I am not much of a kitchen person, in my case between me and my hubby our roles are reversed. He enjoys cooking and I enjoy doing all the other house activities. Though some time I do try cooking up some of the dishes that I enjoy. Hubby is good at Indian cooking, when it comes to other cuisines then it is my turn to take over. On a regular basis we prepare our traditional Indian dishes only, there are times when I enjoy making bake dishes. I love food that is filled with cheese....hehe, but again I avoid as much as possible and very rarely, like once in 3 to 4 months I prepare it and then relish it to my heart's content.
This weekend I had a mood to eat baked cheese chicken pasta, so obviously it was my turn to wear the apron. I am going to share my recipe of this dish. It turned out super yummy. I had prepared it more because some of my friends too love it, and they are always eager to have it whenever I prepare.
I used the Fusilli Pasta, to start with I cooked the pasta.
This is the one that I normally use, they are very good quality.
While the pasta were cooking on one side, on the other side I sautéed the chicken, for which I cooked small cubes of chicken with some finely chopped chilies and garlic.
Once this was also prepared, then it was time for white sauce, for which the ingredients were butter, heavy cream, a mix of parmesan and mozzarella cheese, salt and pepper to taste.
The sauce is also made, now it's time to assemble the dish and bake it. Other ingredients used in it were olives and dried herbs.
I greased the bowl with butter and then poured in a little white sauce at the bottom, after that added the pasta and the chicken in it and then topped it up again with cheese and sprinkled the herbs on it and added chopped olives. As I mentioned it was the mood for cheesy pasta, so a lot of cheese was used in it.
I baked it in the air fryer, it was the first time I was trying making it in a air fryer, so I made a small bowl first to test it out. It came out well, just the way I like. I like the cheese burnt up on the top, it gives a very good flavor.
The first one is done well and so is the second one.
It was a good weekend feast. It was not enough because the big bowl was finished by my friends and the small one just did not feel enough for myself :-(, it got over too soon...hehe. I have to make it once more soon again to feel contended.
