Exploring macro photography!

in #photography9 years ago

Most often people take photos from a standing position and this gives them the most familiar view, the one they are most used to, it's comfortable and easy to do. However there are many different angles and points of view that can and should be explored! At times it requires a small or sometimes large amount of contortion (can be fun) and looking a bit strange (what other people think is irrelevant! Did you get the image you wanted?).

In macro photography composition and finding the best angle for the subject, be it an insect or flower or just a patch of ground, is just as and sometimes more important than getting close.

Invite the viewer into the world of the small and strange; have them imagine new worlds.

A brilliantly pink, though extremely familiar in shape and geometry, the daisy, appears to take flight when viewed from the side:

Getting down on the ground, we can explore the wonderous alien jungles that appear out of the moss:

These fantastic landscapes seem to exude their own stories:

What would it feel like to walk across the bridge formed by the branch?

I can almost feel the struggle for the new branches to find the light, casting off the old bark, reaching upwards.

From a conventional point of view, these scenes are merely random twigs and leaves.

Beauty can be found anywhere, sometimes you need to look harder, sometimes you need to look from a new place. Find new angles, push through and find what is hidden.
