Two Set Kinda Day
Worked arms with the trainer today!! Finally! I don't know if it's because arms are usually always visible, but I love training arms. That pump you get is so awesome! And today was all pretty much 2 sets and a lot of new exercises!
I started off with a triset of core and pushups. 64 pushups for the #50pushupchallenge. The mountain climbers are not your normal fast paced mountain climbers. They are slow and steady and I have my hands on an unstable board (kind of like a bosu). And I switched from side planks to russian twists because my wrists were getting tired.
Then I started working sets with the trainer. The first set was normal chest flies. The 2nd and 3rd are an alternative to normal chest flies and work the anterior delts. I had my hands higher up on the handles (above the handle) with palms open and elbows higher than normal and use my delts to push my hands together. It was an awesome feel. Took a little bit for me to feel it, but once I did!
Next cool exercise was something I've seen someone on instagram do, and always wanted to try but would forget about it when I got to the gym. So instead of the normal chest press, this press mimics the motion of an arnold press. This is the closest video I could find. It was another great anterior delt exercise.
Next exercise was an alternative to incline curls. Started with a hammer curl at the bottom, then at the 90° angle bend move to a normal curl to squeeze the bicep and then slow negative on the way down. These were cool.
Next is a favorite Dumbbell partial rep and then regular rep lateral raises. This was just awesome to get blood pumped to the shoulders.
Ended with assisted dips using a 2 band weights. First 2 was a less resistance band and 3rd was a higher resistance band making it easier.
Well that was it!! 319 reps! BOOM!!!
