It must have been very tough to get around back in the old days? Tarmac has changed the world. I like the old country road photograph. Very picturesque but not much fun to travel on.
I agree, life is much easier now, at least when we want to go anywhere. There is a strong chance we will make it without getting covered in mud :) tip!
We certainly have it easy compared to the old days. Getting along a road like that on a horse drawn cart would be nightmarish I would imagine... ;-)

I always sort of favored the slower ways myself. Its a bit more peaceful and you never know whats around that bend.
The muddy road would be no problem for your hummer lol.

I agree pavement is one of the greatest inventions. Some really beautiful golden hour photos:)
