To My Fellow Bacon Loving Friends
Being a bacon lover / pork fan is becoming harder and harder for me the more often I see things like this. We are told our food supply is safe but when meat is left outside in 65 (F) degree weather for days before it gets processed is it really safe to eat? In the summer it sometimes gets to be in the 90s (F) and I have seen them sit in these dumpsters for days on end.
They come with a dump truck to pick these pigs up and one day I was lucky enough to have a chance to talk to the driver. I ask if there was something wrong with these pigs that were in these dumpsters (because they were turning green and smelling rancid) and he said "No, this is common practice around here!" WAIT WHAT!?!?! So pig meat sitting out in the sun is normal????? I know that isn't healthy to eat rancid meat so why is this common practice?
This stuff really scares me and it should scare you too. I'm not saying don't eat bacon or pork because I love it too, I'm just saying to KNOW WHERE YOUR BACON COMES FROM so you don't get sick because we are obviously being fed a lie when we are told food at these grocery stores is safe.

A interesting video, I hope you get some answers to all the questions that others have asked in the comments. In the mean time, be sure to always cook your meat sufficiently and use a meat thermometer and make sure the temperature is at least 160 degrees all the way through.
That is the temp at which it should have killed all the crap that will make you sick is what I have read.
Look forward to a follow up, thanks brother.
That is definitely great advice papper. It's sad because I feel like most people these days prolly don't even own a meat thermometer, considering so many people can't even cook these days!?!?
Seriously, what are kids learning these days in school because it's definitely not life skills!?! We are the only people my age I know who home cook on a regular basis and are actually good at it. Everyone else just eats out or orders in nearly everyday ....... prolly the reason why everyone is so unhealthy nowadays.
Yes, it is amazing how many people don't cook on a regular basis. Since I am quite a bit older than the wife and we have kids whose friends parents are young enough to be mine we know a lot of younger couples and they just don't cook.
That could very well be one of the reasons so many are unhealthy. Another could be that those same parents just try and do to much with the kids. They run the kids ragged with all sorts of activities that most of kids don't really have an interest in, but the parents do.
FOR TSE ---> It would scare me, too. I mean srsly. Is there a state agency in charge of overseeing something like this? (Do you want to get involved in that aggravation?) Unless they're called out on this, they will keep pushing the envelope again and again until there is an "incident" ... and people get sick / die -- and there will be a huge scandal. And somebody will pay a fine. And it will go back to being "business as usual."
I have to wonder though. Are these pig carcases meant for consumption (by people / animals?) Did you see (or ask) where they are going? Why aren't they being processed at the slaughterhouse? Are these pigs that died (of who knows what?) Or pigs that got sick and were "put down?" Or WTF is going on? Somebody needs to be asking serious questions.
As long as there's a buck to be made -- or a dime to be saved by cutting some corners, you can bet some SOB will be in there, doing it with both hands all day and all night.
Those are all great questions and to be honest I am trying to get some real answers now. The guy who I talked to didn't seem to be to knowledgeable and was in a hurry so I could only ask him a couple questions but I am going to be going to a few local farms and see what the real deal is.. I'm really hoping that this isnt true. If it is I will be doing something about it..

Another thought. We have things like "investigative reporters" at the local television stations here. I know some of them would LOVE a story like this.
I agree with you, I faced the same incident. When sick pigs were taken to meat retail sales
