Franklin 50c SILVER in the SpotlightsteemCreated with Sketch.

Franklins get a lot of attention among the Junk Silver Crowd!
90% Silver/10% copper makes these very attractive U.S. coins.

These happen to be one of my favorite rounds. I have a lot of junk rolls as part as my stack. I find this round to be a very attractive portrait of one of the most influential Founding Fathers.

A worthy coin to be Slabbed in higher Grades!!!

FBL - Full Bell Lines on the Reverse fetch higher premiums.

Franklin halves in very good condition like this are always nice to have.

My photo does not do this coin justice! It really is a stunner. If I can ever figure out how to use my camera I'll take a better picture...

The coin looks fine as I blow it up. I see the shadows and know they're shadows.

I've had the same problem with camera phone. We need LIGHT and the not use flash. The light helps focus and eliminates shadow. I got better pictures in my vehicle than I did in the house because of sunlight.
I'll be buying a real camera soon.

I just recently bought the Canon Powershot ELPH 360HS. Based on the reviews this seems like a decent pocket camera for the price. I been fooling around with it but still seem not to be able to get the right photo's. I guess it comes down to practice, practice, and more practice...lol

That's cool because I was looking at a couple of point and shoot cameras - Canon vs Nikon... My main difference for looking more toward the Canon is WiFi capable. I think the Nikon would have a slightly better lens/pictures. I'm leaning towards the Canon.

very nice coin, not my favourite design but great condition!

Nice junk! I recently picked up my first half dollar junk silver last week. Got a few 1964 Kennedy's added to the stack.

At current spot prices you really can't go wrong with Walkers, Franklins and Kennedy's! Stack On...

The US halves are a fantastic thing to stack. Unfortunately I have a hard time finding them here, but when I'm down visiting family in Georgia, I usually try to pick up a few. I also lime the kennedy's, even the 40% are good.

Yeah I have some love for Kennedy too! Franklins are my 1st choice. The 1964 Kennedy's at 90% are nice. 40% is better than 0%...

These were always one of my favorites! I had quite a few nice ones a while back.

I am fascinated by Walkers and Morgans. I pick them up at the local flea market on occasion. Sometimes get a killer deal on em. I have never come across a Franklin. But wouldn't mind adding one to my stack. I have looked at slabbed coins but have yet to pony up on any. I like to keep "junk" silver on hand. That way if I ever need to liquidate those are the first to go.

I only fool around with slabbed coins if I think I have enough junk rolls. I have a good amount of junk Franklins rolls so I don't mind spending some money on pretty coins.(Coin Collector in me). Like you said its really best to stick with the junk at close to spot as possible. Walkers are pretty too. I need more walker junk rolls lol

I like generic 1 oz rounds just to stack weight. Watch sales and try to get as close to spot as I can. But the numismatic side of collecting keeps it interesting as a hobby.

My son and I started hunting penny rolls for wheat cents. He found a 1904 Indian Head in our first box. Has been hooked ever since.

Very nice find with that 1904 Indian Head. I used to do a lot of unsearched roll hunting back in the day and really need to get back into it. Awesome you got your son involved in it!Stack on...

Thats a pretty sweet coin, i think everything looks so much better in a slab :)

Agree, Slabs make everything look better...:)

It is quite affordable to complete a Franklin collection. Even the Full Bell Lines (FBL) are relatively inexpensive. My favorite half dollar series are the Commemorative half dollars from 1892-1953.
