Another brick in the wall...
There's been a lot of talking lately regarding Tribes, and if steem-engine is a waste of time. Not all people share the same mindset nor the same vision. That's a fact.
Another fact is that I receive a lot of messages in discord lately from "the average user"...and they all admit that ever since Tribes popped up their posts receive double if not more comments.
This sounds like a success story to me. Whatever promotes engagement, especially during times such as this, where the price of steem isn't exactly tempting for the average user to keep on trying and be consistent, nor for the average curator to be looking for the so called...exceptional content to curate, is an achievement. Period.
And whether you like it or not Tribes deserve a credit for that.
The one thing I do not like.
In the beginning it was PAL. They airdropped PAL tokens to every Steemian that fulfilled 3 basic requirements.
- Having at least 10 SP.
- Not being blacklisted.
- Being active for the past 2 months (I think) before the airdrop.
Easy as that...
You can easily understand that thousands of accounts were eligible for this airdrop. Who doesn't love free coins, right? WRONG! Seems like there were dozens of people that didn't see the investing opportunity, and instead of stake them...they dumped every single coin that was given to them...
And then it was @steem.leo.....
Now they did something smart. Instead of using the exact same method...they preferred to airdrop their coins only to those who had already staked their PAL tokens. How awesome is that?
The rest is history....
A new Tribe pops up almost in daily basis. Yet people keep doing the exact same thing....Dumping their free coins for pennies....
If every single Tribe followed @steem.leo's example (the next tribe distributed their coins to the ones that had staked their LEO tokens...and so on) we would end up with fewer and fewer SCOT holders, BUT, they would be the ones that truly see the potential and are here to create, curate and build, rather than dump, kill the prices and in many cases the expectations...
Of course for every dumper...there is a buyer...and I am happily still buying PAL...LEO...and a couple of other tokens that in my opinion have great potential.
Lately, I got almost 500 STEM tokens from the @stemgeeks airdrop. Looking at my feed not even 1% of the people I follow write about Math and science...does that mean that I have to dump those coins since they are not really useful to me? Of course not...But that's just me....
In fact I've staked almost every single coin I got from the various airdrops and keep buying more and more the ones I am really interested into...
This is the way I am doing business...
If you can't appreciate literally the free money that was given to you and build on top of that, then I don't really think that you are a good investor, nor that you'll ever become one. Maybe that's one of the reasons I love purchasing LEO :)
Bottom line is that I love Tribes and I think that they add value to the steem ecosystem.
Patiently waiting to see what future will bring...
I didn't received any STEM airdrop. I asked why on their Discord server without receiving any answer. I'm pretty disappointed! 🙄😭
Aniway I perfectly agree with your thoughts, dear @mindtrap!
A huge hug from @amico 🤗

Thank you!
Let me see what I can do...
And I sold all my STEM @0.47 STEEM per STEM then bought back at ).02 STEEM per STEM. Now just staking those won't have given such juicy results. Don't you agree?
I do agree. That's what investing is all about. And now what? An endless trading game until the end of times? Any thoughts of staking and also curate? A portion of them at least?
Well, just like you, I ain't inclined to curate STEM content regularly. Nor do I author such content. So my manna will go waste if I stake it. What's the point in staking them? Just for a long term investment? I'd better trade them for some other tokens. What say?
You can always find a few stem authors and curate their content:-) but that’s your call. Trading isn’t a bad option. Sell off is...
I am staking also STEM , I think it has future here within the science community even if they are minor.
I am sure they do!
This is why I almost stake all my latest airdrops this morning.

Yes these tokens like other cryptos are cheap at first and then they will get more valuable @mindtrap so if you are investor you just have to stack up on a lot of them. Airdroppers will also be more wary on whom to airdrop too in the future.
