In circa vent'anni abbiamo estratto dal sottosuolo enormi quantità di acqua: questa attività ha fatto inclinare l'asse terrestre.
Tra il 1993 e il 2010 abbiamo estratto quasi 2.150 gigatonnellate di acqua dal sottosuolo per consumarla, utilizzarla per fini agricoli o industriali: secondo uno studio pubblicato su Geophysical Research Letters questa attività, che ha contribuito a far aumentare il livello dei mari di 6 millimetri, avrebbe inclinato l'asse terrestre spostando il polo Nord geografico di 80 centimetri verso est, con possibili conseguenze in scala geologica per il clima terrestre.
I ricercatori hanno realizzato un modello scientifico del cambiamento nell'inclinazione dell'asse terrestre che tenesse conto della redistribuzione dell'acqua di falda.
I risultati coincidono quasi totalmente con il cambio reale avvenuto nell'inclinazione: la maggior quantità di acqua si è spostata verso l'America occidentale e l'India nordorientale.
I poli di rotazione terrestre si spostano normalmente di qualche metro ogni anno, per cui l'apporto dato dall'estrazione dell'acqua non è rilevante a breve termine e non rischia di alterare il corso delle stagioni.

Siamo troppo distruttivi , e alcune persone che dicono di voler vivere sulla luna , abbiamo già la terra incasinata , ora andiamo sulla luna , la natura umana è decisamente troppo arrogante
È vero, si parla di sfruttare le risorse della luna, di colonizzare marte, poi il nostro pianeta sta agonizzando.
That is the big problem of extracting water from aquifers without good planning and policies, unfortunately it happens all over the world.
You're right. We need good planning to face this problem but all the governments must cooperate together and take care of our planet.
It is confirmed that the increasing human population is continuing ... And human will eject more water from Earth soil. In Pakistan there are everyperson using digging water. Is it dangerous for human in future? What will be the alternative of it?
I think we reached a point where all the governments of all the countries must cooperate together to find a solution to this problem.
I hope there is still anything to do.. 🙏

This is really deep and we human are not good at balancing everything and this is the result of that. We can't play with the natural elements, if we do so then at the end we can see we messed up with our own.
Earth's rotational poles were once our study topic in school and it remind me my nostalgic school life and study. Now science and technology is very advance to detect and discover each problem and it's solution most of the time.
I feel the same way, we can't play with natural elements without worrying about the consequences. And they are increasingly serious.
This is the reality that we have to accept and if possible then take major steps to control before its too late.
Senza l'industrializzazione selvaggia senza freni non si verificherebbe un buon numero di tali grivie e paturnie.
Purtroppo questa industrializzazione continua ad essere selvaggia ancora oggi nonostante ci siano le prove scientifiche del danno che procura.
