Hi folks.

Some of you will have followed me across from my previous Steemit account (@peterloupelis) and have read my final post there.

Given this is a new account, and that there are people who are following me here who aren't familiar with my work, I should probably introduce myself.

I've been offline since the beginning of the year, basically to take a break from the overwhelm I was feeling. I'd recently closed my business (a natural medicine practice) and began working in a completely different field. Just to shake things up and change things around.

Social media and the online world was really starting to do my head in. That and coupled with the ego-death that comes from losing your identity (based purely on my professional world) meant that I needed to reset everything - mind, body, and spirit. I began to delete and deactivate all my (many) social media accounts... except for Steemit. Facebook had become toxic, with complete strangers trolling my account, and getting numerous requests from clearly fake accounts.

I continued to write various articles and stories, but never published anything. I really felt like I needed to be out of the public eye. My old website went down, and I went about erasing my online existence by taking my details off all the practitioner directories I was on. I went dark.

Life offline became very simple. It was beneficial to have this calmness and peace. All I did was go to work, read, play some LOTRO... and that's about it. It also meant I kinda became a hermit.

I went on a road trip into Central Australia and had a much needed rest for my entire being, sitting in the sun and the sand, in the shadow of Uluru and the wondrous Dreaming of this sacred, ancient land. I got my confidence back to start publishing my work, but decided to do so under a pen-name. I was inspired to create a new blog over at Medium called Pandora's Lost Gift. The premise is that Hope - the gift that remained in Pandora's Jar after all the evils had been released - is the lost gift that is being given to humanity at this time to solve the problems created when the jar was opened. I tied this in with the creation of a mythology of Metametheus, the bastard son between Prometheus and Pandora.

Still I remained offline, only occasionally reading some of my favourite writers on Medium, and returning to reading blogs when I wasn't reading good old fashioned print books. I began regular sessions with a Process-oriented Psychotherapist whom I knew and trusted, and begun the slow process of re-discovering who I am, what I love, what I value, and what I may want to be when I grow up.

I'm still in that process; which brings me to here and now.

I realised that there was a reason I hadn't let go of Steemit.

Because this community has some great features - a sense of community, for one - which make it enticing to be part of. So I created this account, and began powering-down my SP from the original account, which I will transfer across to this one once complete.

My intention is that I'll use this platform to write more about the seemingly mundane stuff that I value in life: rock music, Science Fiction, TV, movies, Comic Books, and all things pop-culture. Not that my observations, thoughts, and reviews of these things are separate to my contemplations of philosophy and spirituality (which I will leave on Medium), but because those of you who follow and ready work here like my previous writing on those topics.

I'll still get philosophical and deep about these topics, because those aspects of pop-culture that grab my attention and spark my imagination hold some kind of deeper, Metamethean connections.

And in the meantime, I will continue to work on building and designing my new website. Experimentation with this has accidentally already bled onto my blog here as I was playing with the Wordpress plugin. So my apologies for that.

I'm also doing some really cool meditations and study into ancient Chinese philosophy, my other true love. I'm not going to get too much into writing about that stuff at the moment, as I'm allowing the space for that to marinate and ferment away in the deepest recesses of my consciousness before I start sharing that among a wider audience. Feeling into how that is going to play a part in the next phase of my career also.

So that's about it for the introduce yourself take 2. I'm hoping that all the folk who were following me previously will continue to do so here.

It feels good to be back here. Looking forward to seeing your excellent work on my feed.
