The Sandia Mountains are a small mountain range just to the east of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The high point is a long ridge called the Sandia Crest.
My photos were taken during a visit in early January a few years ago and it snowed at higher elevations while we were there, adding to the beauty of the landscape. We took the Sandia Peak Tram to the top as the sun was setting and had a cup of hot chocolate in the restaurant that is at the top.
The Sandia Peak Tram is the longest aerial tram in the United States and the ride takes visitors 2.7 miles to the 10,000-foot peak of the Sandia Mountains.
It carries passengers to the top or bottom every 15 minutes and the two cars meet halfway.
It was too cold and windy, and we were not dressed to do much exploring outdoors once we got to the top, but there are many trails to explore. We did see the volunteer ski patrol.
During the summer half the chairs on the tram are equipped with racks for transporting bicycles to the top of the mountain to ride the trails back down.The Golden Eagle Trail, is open to downhill traffic only. The other trail, King of the Mountain, is longer, more difficult, and open for two way traffic, and there is a volunteer bicycle Patrol that help keep visitors safe.

Nice photos! I really like the third and second-to-last ones in particular. The gondola looks like it would offer some amazing views! At least, it would for those not afraid of heights. I have a friend that would be lying on the floor, shaking!
Thanks! I don't mind heights, but a tunnel with no end in sight can cause me to hyperventilate!
wow Melinda, I didn't know all this was there on that mountain range, the tram and the views and the restaurant at the top and all the trails... just super cool. Hey I have a dumb question, if one delegates from the Delegate button on our wallet, is that for 90 days like going through Blocktrades?
I doubt it. I think it will deduct your delegation from your SP amount and it will remain delegated until you cancel it. I'll look at it more closely when I can get to my laptop.

oh geez I hate to sound so dumb but I don't even remember how to get to blocktrades! lol.
You will need to go into steemit go to the hamburger menu in the top right-hand corner next to your picture. Drop down to third-party exchanges and you will see block trades.
In the first box that , where it says send, click the drop-down arrow and change that to read Steem then in the receive box click the drop-down arrow and choose steam-powered delegation 90 days.
In your receive address type the username of the person you want to send to and click get deposit address
It will take you to another screen where you will need to type in your username if you are using Steem connect.

Thanks so much! We were stuck in Albuquerque for 5 days while we waited for our truck to be repaired. So we rented a car and got to do a lot of unexpected exploring, and I'm so glad that we did!
My mom has always said that what happens is the best. And that happened so they could know that beautiful place.
