I AM A MAN,SO WHAT ( THE SILENT AGONY OF THE MALE FOLKS)

in #nigeria7 years ago (edited)

Ladies always think the society and every force that be works alternatively for most of their misfortune. In a world where both genders expected to complement each other are busy pointing accusing fingers,

women especially think they're rare specie more than the male folks and no one have ever taken a single minute to consider what men pass through daily, simply because they don't complain.

Men suffer in silence unlike women that makes noise, shout and scream at just a slightest of pain. Its never easy to be a man. Viewing through their lens, I concur to the fact that God foresaw a lot ahead and purposely gave men the power to dominant because they're the best fit for that role.

1.Because I am a man, I always have to make the first move in almost everything because that's what's expected of me at every point in time. Once I fail in taking the first step which I'm unsure of what the outcome will be, I'm tagged a weakling, a coward and a woman simply because I failed to break the jinx at a particular time.

  1. Because I am a man, people may see him with kids, and assume he's a pedophile. Ladies play with babies but as a man, he hardly have such privilege without it being tagged something else.

  2. Men live in a world where you are constantly unwanted, rejected, and outright feared, just for existing “Women complain about how they are constantly being objectified and desired by men all the time. Try a world where you are constantly unwanted, rejected, and outright feared, just for existing.”

  3. Women constantly attack us, and we’re not allowed to complain “How helpless we are against the nasty mean looks, jokes, jabs and other subtle ways women attack us with. And on top of that, how society forces us to not complain about it.”

  1. Because i am a man i have absolutely no implicit value “The sort of ‘silent expectation.’It’s adifficult thing to articulate but it basically boils down to a sense of carrying everyday weight on ones shoulders in the absence of recognition or validation.

The constant absence of romance for many men is because many men frequently try to express that they like a girl and are turned down repeatedly.

Many men can go many years with the certainty that no woman is thinking of them romantically and many even with open disgust.

6). When a little boy falls down, we tell them to stop crying, get up, and go play “Women have to remember that the stoic stone motioned man that you see has been trained to be like that since the age of five.

When a little girl falls down, people give a shit, she' s allowed to cry, she's pampered, kissed, hugged....but because i am a man, i never received such soft caring treatment even as a toddler.
So no amount of psychotherapy, analyzing, and health articles on how important emotions are is going to be able to rework what’s essentially two or three decades of emotional brainwashing. So much of how we bring up men is about forging guys to keep their eye on the prize no matter what. Things hurt?

7). Rape a lady and she screams Rappppppppppe! And the society comes to her aid. Rape a man and he suffers in silence. I can't tell anyone I am raped because I'm a man. I'll be accused of enjoying it.

8). Because I am a man, I don't get complimented for my looks, I suffer gender stereotype too. A woman without a job will be pitied and cared for but a man without same will be verbally abused for being jobless countless times.

9). We have to provide physically, financially, emotionally, and mentally for our families “The expectations that we carry all the time. We have to provide physically, financially, emotionally, and mentally for our families. We have to bust ass at work where we provide physically, financially, emotionally and mentally for our bosses and customers. We have to buck up if we are down because it can’t effect our work or the whole thing crumbles.

  1. We can’t really call in sick without being ridiculed with having a ‘man cold”. We are expected to be everyone’s rock and support system when there isn’t much for us in terms of coping for that kind of dependancy. We still bear all these without complains. But let a woman be the breadwinner for one week, the whole world will know.

  2. THE MOST PAINFUL OF IT ALL... because I'm a man that wants to marry an IBO girl, I might have to save almost my life earnings for years just to raise money for the marriage rite list and other wedding expenses. I must pay the bride price and settle the kinsmen of a woman whom my future with her remains uncertain as no one knows tomorrow yet the woman will be struggling to be equal with me in the home under the cloaks of feminism. A home that I spent millions to bring her in to build...***Men are weeping already". All these and so much more happen because I am a man.

I'm so proud to be a man💪
We are so strong

Lol... Our pumping machine spoilt so I went to the next compound to fetch water even though my temperature was about 10degree higher than normal: I wasn't feeling fine. I was told to wait that they are just pumping the water, I waited thirty minute under tge sun and when I couldn't take it anymore, I left. Two minute later, My neighbor -a beautiful light girl went to the same compound and came back with buckets of water. She went again and fetched six more buckets.
I was angry my temperature rise 6 degrees more.

Lol😂.....
This is just a good illustration of my post
I feel your pain bro....

I feel your pain, but I fear that this is something so deeply embedded our society that it won't change for a very long time.
Recently the #MeToo posts have started both a witch hunt on men, as well as making men doubt whether or not saying something as basic as 'hello' or holding a door would be considered offensive.
It has gotten out of hand and in my opinion, common sense has left the building. Let's agree to not violate women, physically and mentally, and let's agree to not be easily offended as well.

Oh thanks for your opinion @t0v3

Hmm... A lot of things have been damaged because of the conventions of the society.

I am very impressed because it has been a while since I have seen something like this. Most times, what I see is about the restrictions of the female gender.

This is a nice article.

I think we all need to start challenging some of these conventions. As a lady, there are some things my parents expect "a lady" to do that I have told them I would never do... change begins with us

Thanks @chemmy
BTW i like how you stood your ground and know whats right for you👏
You are right "change begins with us" truly

Humm, really??
Well done man!
