#freewrite :: 5 minute freewrite - Prompt: mashed potatoes
Jarrod looked at the menu above the counter. He had been craving for fried chicken for the past 3 weeks and now, all he wanted to do was to order them at this restaurant. He had just gotten his pay for the month and he felt like rewarding himself with some fried chicken today.
The restaurant had combo meals that came with a choice of 2 or 3 pieces of fried chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. But Jarrod didn't quite like the coleslaw. Mashed potatoes very much, especially with the gravy.
He stood there contemplating and calculating for a couple of minutes to see if he should order the combo meal that comes with a small serving of mashed potatoes and a small serving of coleslaw or should he order an ala-carte 2 pieces of fried chicken and add a side order of a large serving of mashed potatoes.
It was quite a tough decision to make when he didn't earn much and every penny counts. He dreamt of the day when he could spend on anything that he wanted.
