Election Day: Superman or Agent Smith?

in #life6 years ago

Social media is generally not my method of having political discussions. Similar to theology, there are so many definitions that become lost in translation when the non-verbal cues are out of the picture. We say a lot through our body language and voice inflections. Unfortunately, our two candidates pictured above don’t have much going for them in this regard.

Given Mr Smith’s background and beliefs I doubt he would recieve my vote today anyway. Although, he does have my respect for figuring out how to clone himself.

If you are wondering where this picture came from, it is from a salt mine in Kansas where Hollywood stores many of their set pieces and film stock.

Sometimes I wish politics and politicians would go the way of these mannequins and people could live without the biannual cycle of slander and campaign promises.

Even if our candidate was Superman, I still hear our friend @creatr talking about the inherent evil that is human government.

Considering how bad things are in some places, I at the very least enjoy hearing his views on this fundamental shift in the way humanity interacts with common law.

None of what I am saying is here to convince you of who you should have voted for today. Rather, these words were meant to bring a little chuckle or lighthearted thoughts to this time of year.

I see some people as presidential - the character Robert de Niro played in the Intern (should have been called The Apprentice, lol) Someone with gravitas and dignity except when it comes to commenting on political figures who displease him. Uh yeah, I'll settle for civility :)

Haha, same John, same. :)

Hey, Lydon,

Thanks for the kind shout out.

The problem is, there is no "superman" among mere mortals. The only "superman" candidate is the eternal Son, the one Man, the authentic Man, who can legitimately claim the right to rule, and who has claimed that right and demonstrated the validity of the claim by conquering death. He 'da MAN!

That Man is the one who sits in the heavens and laughs at all the pretend rulers in our world, every president and prime minister and king.

Consequently, I voted for no "whos" on Tuesday. I voted against specific tax increases, and for a single tax repeal proposition. But men? Mere men?

Naah!

I have one Ruler, one alone. None other need apply.

😄😇😄

@creatr

He 'da MAN!

A men, to that! As always, bringing the purifying heat of truth. :)
