My Actifit Report Card: August 21 2024

On my last walk, I decided to explore the picturesque village of Lacock in Wiltshire. As I strolled through the narrow, cobblestone streets lined with charming stone cottages, I was transported back in time. Lacock is a well-preserved village that dates back to the 13th century, and it is like stepping into a living history book.

One of the first places I visited was Lacock Abbey, a stunning medieval abbey that has been used as a filming location for several movies and TV shows, including Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. The architecture and the peaceful cloisters were truly captivating.

As I continued my walk, I made my way to the village church, St. Cyriac's, which dates back to the 12th century. The church is filled with beautiful stained glass windows and intricate stone carvings, and I spent some time admiring the craftsmanship and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.

I also stopped by the local bakery to pick up some freshly baked bread and pastries, and I chatted with the friendly owner, who shared some interesting stories about the history of the village.

Overall, my walk in Lacock was a delightful journey through time, filled with fascinating sights and friendly encounters. I can't wait to explore more historic villages and towns in England on my next adventure!
