Riding the rails to Steemfest 3

Here's a totally half-baked idea. I'm really glad to see that SteemFest 3 is coming up in November. I'm also (selfishly) glad to see that it's going to remain a European affair for another year. We're going to Krakow in Poland!

I've done a couple of epic train journeys around conferences in my time. Using SXSW as an anchor, I twice travelled coast-to-coast across the USA.

Now European trains are way more plentiful, comfortable and efficient than their Amtrak cousins across the Atlantic. So I'm thinking about how I could do a slightly extended journey from South East England to South West Poland. Just thinking. Doing some research, looking at times and possibilities.

Because I think what would be really cool would be to meet up with others along the way and have a travelling SteemFest circus building up and getting to know each other before the big event itself.

And of course, this year, it's got to be all about funding the trip from Steem Rewards.

Let's Go!

HOpe you have your jolly time at Steemfest 3!

I hope to see you there man, you might wanna take a look at this

Nice one. I call that "blogging like nobody's reading" :) im in!

Well, I'm definitely a fan of trains. You'd think that, after half a year of two hours daily commuting on one, I'd be sick of them, but no - I still look forward to it most days. I really need to get my passport sorted out so I can visit @donnadavisart in London during her stay this Fall - maybe we can coordinate it with a Eurail trip to Poland.

I've been kind of thinking about this too. I once trained it to Amsterdam. It took ages, but it was very scenic. To Krakow, one would probably have to change at least twice from London.

yes, I'm thinking of spreading it out over three days or so, with a couple of overnight stays in comfortable places :)

Interesting idea.

Seems to be even cheaper option to go via Prague.

Sounds brilliant @lloyddavis. I'm always happy to have someone else do the research about such things.

I'll look forward to your report. 😁

Not sure I'll be able to afford it though. 😢

yes, needs to be affordable, but might be sponsorable!

Really? Who might sponsor it then @lloyddavis? That would make a big difference.

Have you looked in to the practicalities of it at all yet? 😁

people who want to be associated with cutting edge crypto bloggers on a train!

and good lord no! I only thought of it yesterday. Davis is quick on ideas, slow on practicalities.

Wow. Was it only yesterday @lloyddavis it seems ages a go!

Looks like @pennsif and @steevc are more on the ball. 😂

I'm with you though. I'd want to spread it out a bit and do it comfortably with a decent amount of sleep.
