Cuban Santeria (Afro-Cuban religion) women - Peoplephotography by @worldcapture week #5
For my first entry ever to the Peoplephotography photo contest organized by @worldcapture I chose this photo of women practicing Santeria.
Santería ("worship of saints") also known as Regla de Ocha, is an Afro-American religion of Caribbean origin that developed in the Spanish Empire among West African descendants. Women are dressed completely in white, down to her stockings and shoes, and carried a white umbrella.
This belief is strictly hierarchical, it oversees that every mortal bearer fulfill what he was born for.
Places with significant influence of this religion is Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Panama and country with a large Hispanic population such as some states of the US.
Stay awesome and Steem on!
