Who has a better shot at beating Trump?

It's a great question because we ought to be rooting for their worst candidate so that Trump's landslide is even yuger. So who is worse than Joe? Nobody, as far as I see it. Not only is he a gaffe machine who will not wear well in the spotlight, I am confident that Rudy and Barr have the goods on the Bidens and are just waiting for the right moment to spring it on him (I'm thinking July 20th; the Monday after the DNC convention) and topple the house of cards.

A person selected at random from the Cleveland phone book would have a better shot of upsetting Trump than any of the people in this field, so Klobuchar, by being the most unknown, makes her the best bet. But she doesn't stand a snowball's chance and is just in this for the Veep spot anyhoo.

I would kind of like Bernie to win so that he can be trounced and his movement disillusioned, but I do fear that no matter how poorly he does, it will be seen as a victory for the socialist cause, not as a complete repudiation.

Warren is a tyrannical termagant with the worst ideas, but I just don't understand why she's doing so well, so I fear her the most. She is losing traction in the primary, however, and is starting to look desperate. Perhaps the base is just getting to really know her.

Mayor Pete comes across as the most sane and if he plays it 'small' in primary, he could win. It seems the country loves 'firsts' and maybe they are craving a gay potus, even if he is terribly underqualified. -But, heck, they all are.

I think Bloomberg is a Perot-in-waiting, and is just waiting to jump ship and go independent, but if he won the Dem nomination, perhaps he could strengthen Trump's rout in the pivotal Midwest states where we like our Big Gulps and don't much like meddlesome New Yorkers.

Who's left? Steyer? Well, he's another unknown, but what little the dems know of him, they seem to despise. Perhaps that's why he'd do best in the general if he were to win the primary.

So that brings us to the possibility of a brokered convention. I would LOOOOOOVE for Hillary to somehow steal the nomination. Oh, dear God, please let the Princess of Darkness have one last go at it. It would be such a glorious blaze of burnout. That won't happen, I am certain, because if it comes to that, Michelle Obama would jump in and steal the show. If that happens, Trump could be in trouble.

Sort:

Each of them has no shot at all... Trump is ahead of both Biden and Sanders.

I seem to have misplaced my dartboard, so your guess is as good as mine...

I think Bloomberg is a Perot-in-waiting,

That made me laugh! So true... "I'd like a US Presidency, please. With a side of fries..."

no matter what the polls come out to say I think 2016 taught us that all of that is garbage. I think the entire field is weak and most would get badly embarrassed during the debate portion of the beauty pageant.

I've said it many times, I think that Joe was determined to be the nominee a LONG time ago and that is what is going to happen. Then I believe Trump will defeat him in perhaps exactly the same fashion that he defeated Hillary.

Maybe the news stations will be a little more apprehensive to declare Joe has a 90% chance of victory though.
