Breakfast is food intake that will increase energy and increase endurance and strength of muscle and brain function so that they are able to carry out future activities comfortably and safely.

Benefits of breakfast;
  • Lowers bad cholesterol in the blood
  • Prevents diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
  • Keeps blood sugar from getting too low.
  • Strengthens muscles.
  • Improve endurance and brain activity.
  • Makes digestion smooth.

So that we can get better benefits from our breakfast intake, there are several characteristics of a healthy breakfast that can support our productivity;

1.Has sufficient amount
The number of servings of our breakfast ideally is to have calories that meet our needs while on the move. These calories greatly affect the body and also our health. We should consume sufficient amounts of food (not too little and not too much) because with breakfast in sufficient quantities we can keep blood sugar and carbohydrates from being too low.

2.Types vary
The type of breakfast that we consume is not only one group, it is better to vary it to meet the substances and nutrients in the body. Such as 25% consists of protein, 25% carbohydrates, and the other 50% is vegetables and fruit.

The one-meal guide was also delivered by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, namely Fill My Plate;

one-third filled with staple foods (carbohydrate sources, rice, tubers, etc.)
two-thirds filled with side dishes (source of protein, eggs, fish, meat, chicken, tofu, tempeh, etc.)
two thirds filled with fruit
one third filled with vegetables

3. Done at the right time
In Indonesia, activities usually start at 7-9 am and this breakfast can support our productivity for the next 12 hours.

Indonesia is one of the countries where people consume rice as the main source of carbohydrates, or if you have ever known those from Indonesia, you can't be far from rice. Even 3x1 a day becomes a routine that cannot be separated from the food menu.

Including I am a rice lover and this gives me enough energy when doing all my activities, that's why I have many favorite breakfast menus such as fried rice, fried bananas, tea, milk, and Bubur Ayam is what I like the most. .

Clean all the ingredients and cut the chicken into small pieces (1 chicken into 12 parts). Then boil the chicken in a pot using plain water. Take the chicken broth and divide it in half, partly for cooking porridge and partly for cooking porridge gravy. Cook 1 cup of rice with 7 cups of broth (according to the softness of the porridge), if the broth is not enough, you can add water, add bay leaf, salt and a little chicken stock and cook until smooth.

Puree the spices (shallot, garlic, candlenut, red chili) . Take a pot and put the ground spices and broth and boiled chicken into it, then cook it until it boils, don't forget to add salt, broth, lemon grass, bay leaf. Boil the eggs, and fry the prawn crackers and shallots, as well as the chicken that was boiled in the gravy then set aside.

How to prepare it;

Take the chicken porridge, put it in a container, take the chicken and shred it on top, sprinkle the celery that has been cut into small pieces, then take the egg and place it on top, you can pour the sweet soy sauce and chili sauce on top then pour it with the broth, and give it a touch of fried onions and crackers prawns as accompaniment. Yummyyy....

I have breakfast starting at 6, usually I will feel hungry at this hour and I enjoy a lighter breakfast such as cakes, biscuits, bread or making fried bananas with hot tea, this is my quick choice, I can't help but be hungry because of that like preparing a heavy breakfast I need more time.

and at 8 o'clock I have breakfast with something heavier like fried rice or chicken porridge or Lontong and even pecal noodles. This will make my breakfast feel complete after working on some of my morning routines.

I often prepare my own breakfast, now I live apart from my parents and I am the only daughter in the family and live in the village, so apart from myself, it is my husband and children who help me to prepare it.

Sometimes my husband helps out to find some cakes and lontong when we want it once in a while. He also wakes up when I wake up and we enjoy breakfast together, while my son often grabs a glass and fills water or picks up a plate and arranges it nicely.
