Added Benefit

We can all use added benefit or value in what we do

A few days ago I wrote an article here on making your own toothpaste and the reasons for it. But that was not the complete story as this article will add value to that prior article as well as help some see a new insights.

Did you know that your toothbrush a breeding ground for more than 100 million bacteria including E. coli and staphylococci (Staph) bacteria? I know it sounds and is really gross, but don't panic, as your mouth is also chock full of bacteria's and your toothbrush probably won't make you sick because of that. But there are ways to keep it clean so you stay healthy.

Some toothpastes do kill germs and of course some are better than others, especially brands that contain triclosan/copolymer. This chemical compound is better than your regular fluoride toothpaste, at killing these oral bacteria.

But they are chemical based

The coconut oil toothpaste I wrote about:

Not only kills bacteria in your mouth, but also on your toothbrush. Here is a snippet from that post: "Coconut oil helps develop stronger teeth as it also has been found to stop tooth decay with it's antimicrobial properties. The oil extracts and eliminates the bacteria in and around your teeth promoting a healing process within the teeth. Additional benefits of extracting and killing these bacteria also serves to prevent or control Gingivitis as it freshens your breath (it is the bacteria that cause the odor). This is a 3000 year old Ayurvedic process that also removes the tartar and plaque as well as even whitening your teeth.

Toothbrush Maintenance

  • Rinse your toothbrush thoroughly with tap water (or Hydrogen of Peroxide) every time you use it.
  • Let your toothbrush dry thoroughly between brushings.
  • Don't use toothbrush covers, they create a moist enclosed breeding ground for bacteria.
  • Keep your toothbrush upright in a holder, rather than lying it down.
  • Don't ever use anyone else's toothbrush, or let someone use yours.
  • Keep toothbrushes separate, if your toothbrushes touch they can swap germs.

This is quite resourceful, I used to keep my toothbrush with my cousins in the same rack, never knew germs could be transmitted. Getting my brush out right away

I Think back to when I was a child, the things we did they say would kill us now, but we survived.... however this is still good to know...as it is better for one's health.

Yes exactly!. Thanks between
