Tyrants dish out death to solve their problems

in #philosophy6 years ago (edited)

Power corrupts. When someone gets to have power over others in some form, this can corrupt them. Maybe they were already corrupted to begin with. Maybe they strove to gain power in order to actualize their desire to control others. Money, politics and fame all grant power.

An example of how power is used to control others and violate moral law, is communism. Joseph Stalin gained power under a lie to help people. Soon, he showed his true colors in his effort to obtain it, and thereafter.

When there was a problem that prevented actualizing control over society, for people to do what he wanted, Stalin knew what to do:

"Death is the solution to all problems. No man, no problem."
- Joseph Stalin

A problem for him, was divergence from how he wanted people to act. If someone or a group of people would act against his will, using their own free will to do things contrary to what he desired, he would remove them from the equation.

Gulags work, that makes people go away, and you can use them for slave labor to produce for society without giving them more than they need to survive. But if that fails, or even instead of sending them there, you just kill murder them.

This is how you make a revolution work in the first place. There are people standing in your way to change things towards the way you want them to be. You want social change, but some people just don't want to do what you want. That's a problem. You want people to be "unified" and operating as "one" cohesive machine in society. So, you just get rid of them.

For a tyrant and psychopath bent on controlling others and society, the easiest thing to do is to remove the obstruction that prevents your vision from being realized. Those obstructions are people with free will. If they won't bend to your will by persuasion or force, then they can be removed from existence.

Authoritarian rulers use this in our times, all over the world. Even in Western "democratic" societies we get rid of people who are trouble makers, maybe not through death though. If you're a dissident who objects to the state, you can be deemed a possible terrorist. You can be harassed and detained in order to try to shut you up.

Freedom is a hard thing to get in human history. We've been fighting to allow our free will to exist amidst the will of those who to dominate and control us, who want us to subsume our will to theirs. Can we reach the goal of no masters, no rulers (anarchy), and be able to live in peace where our wills don't violate the wills of other beings?

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

The path of power is Addiction of control.
The less it is oversight the more tyranny grows.
Tyrants will kill you just for one more shot.

Indeed. Control over others is what it's all about. They want domination.

Those of you who watch "The Walking Dead" might know the tyrant named Negan, leader of a group called 'The Saviors." This large well-armed group preys on smaller weaker groups, not destroying them completely, but forcing them to scavenge for "The Saviors." It occurred to me that America, with its powerful military-industrial- surveillance assets, behaves very much the same way towards other countries, even close allies. But, the US gov't is very good at deceiving its own citizens into believing America is 'exceptional' and only trying to save the world from evil. The other countries of the world fear and hate America.

Mind control by pretending to be something you aren't, a mind fuck

I think we might be in a state of anarchy right now. Anarchy is the absence of government. I would take it a step further and say it's the absence of legitimate government. Government was meant to be a servant to the people. It has become master and as master it steals the product of the peoples labor. I would posit that this makes government illegitimate and therefore not a government at all. What you perceive to be government may in fact simply be organized crime. Even if the illegitimate government vanished there would be people and groups of people that would try and exercise dominance over others. Eventually these groups would become established and be perceived as governments by their fearful subjects. This would erase the notion that a state of anarchy exists from the minds of those subjects.

In that case it wouldn't be real anarchy, just a you say it's not real government ;)

Sometimes people like to imagine a stateless state, they call this anarchy. Problem is, the way that it is imagined is unrealistic.

Ever since the dawn of mankind men have organized in tribes and nations big or small and subjugated themselves to authorities who dictate the minutia of their lives.

Anarchy is the organic state, it's the law of the jungle. It continues to exist even today in the concrete jungles. Our level of subjugation determines how derealized anarchy is or has become.

Order and chaos live side by side, it's a symbiosis. The government would have you believe that everything is under control. Yet, all one need to do is turn on the news or roll through a stop sign to realize that everything is not under control.

It's kind of like pure communism and pure capitalism. There are only degrees, America is not purely capitalist. Evidence of that is social security, income taxation, and collectivized health care.

Neither is China pure communistic when you compare the PRC to the mainland. I'm sure there are also some extraordinarily unequally wealthy people on China's mainland as well.

Point being the notion of a stateless state is the idea that non-force can be organized and controlled.

That type of absolute non-control control couldn't be achieved any more than a government could exercise control control because the levers of power would always be in the hands of imperfect men.

Allot of this is subjective too. For example, Kim Jong Ill's government is mostly capitalistic if you put yourself in his shoes, as he is capitalizing to the max off of the backs of his subjects.

If you put yourself in the shoes of one of those who have been forcibly, or voluntarily, or by means of Stockholm syndrome subjugated to him. Then your perception of his government would be that it's highly communistic.

Yes, in my opinion if we go Decentralised way then for sure we can be free from the control from one Central Power who rules us and currently one government rules one country and no matter their policies hurt common people still everyone has to follow it.

If we go Decentralised way then may be we can hold the power and if we want we can choose people to run the economy if they do any wrong doings then we can rule out them on that moment only.

Yes, History is bloody red and the freedom earned after many battles, wars and sacrifices of life and if they wanted then everybody would stay peacefully but the greed of power and control is the evil root cause.

Many don't give much weight to the history because they didn't saw it but in my opinion we have to give much weight which we didn't saw but blindly accepting it, means we are not keeping the belief on next person but we believe the History which we never saw and some Historical aspects can also spread the hate.

Thanks for sharing this post with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Nobody wants war. The idea to go kill people in other lands is something rulers and influencers put into people's minds. Sell the lie of defending freedom and you get suckers to go to war :/

This is truly practical reality.

Countless times we have seen people starting good and ending bad. On the way up, they have accumulated power and lost their ground and moral.
One can say that there are powerful people who remain human. Yes, maybe there are. But they need to have strict rules and follow them. Ask those people what their rules are? (Ideology) What do they believe in? And occasionally remind them of their own rules.
The people from the history books also thought that they ware ok. We are all humans and vulnerable. We need rules and reminders. Especially in the face of power.

We need rules, but not rulers ;)

howdy @krnel yes very true words, the way most leaders down through the centuries have gained and then stayed in power is horrifying. I think it is more difficult these days because of social media and cell phones/cameras but we all must be engaged to some degree politically and put pressure on politicians who will at least try to inact laws for the people instead of the state, I know it's an uphill battle but what other choices are there? We'll never reach the goal of having no masters while there is life on earth.

People need to be more moral so there is no demand for central control over our lives. Self-control is the solution.

Interesting thing is that all of these totalitarian tyrants all have very childish mentalities. It is very childish to believe that killing someone will fix the problem. It rarely, if ever, does.

In a society, if you kill one person for a bad opinion, another will take his place. The only thing killing does is to force the opinion underground, where it grows and festers.

Also, if you understand reincarnation, you know that killing is, at best, a reset. They will be back in 18 years. And their opinions will not have changed. They will probably be even more against you.

So, the only way to solve your problems is to go inside and heal yourself. The only change that works is changing yourself.

It has been said with regards to attempting to take over America. - loosely quoted - 'It is easier to kill 25 million people than to control them.' In my opinion freedom is a hard fought fight, but well worth the effort. Thanks @krnel

That was Zbigniew Brzezinski if memory serves.

It was said also by one more recently by one of Obama's friends in reference to putting Americans in reeducation camps. Those that could not be reeducated would have to be eliminated as in killed. Bill Ayers I think.

I think you are right... what is crazy is just how many of these people (high level government, corporate, academics and bankers in particular) will just talk about the need to kill people.

Anyway, it makes for a temporary solution that plants the seeds of destruction.

anarchy is indeed an order of the higher kind.....to the eyes that see clearly.

Death is an easy solution to a lot of problems.

It hardly if ever is the right one though..

Indeed. But those who don't stop doing evil to others, can either stop, or be stopped. Sometimes death is all that works. Prison is only taxing everyone else to pay for their continued existence, while they would do the same thing again if give the chance.

One could argue that society being taxed is the right thing because it is society that brought out said evil doer in the first place.

Interesting train of thought I had here, not what I would usually think here.

I think we are at the point where they need to "be stopped". Physically.
They are now brazen enough to display their filth in public, making it easier to see - to those who look up.
