Blockchain offers something solid in the world where everything shifts and changes. Considering this one and many other qualities it has, there are many ways how Blockchain could help us change the world. Below I’ve listed a couple of ways Blockchain could change the world.
- Poverty reduction
Currently, there are more than 2.5 billion people who lack govenment provided identity. Without proper documents (and identity), people cannot sign job contracts, get loans or develop credit history.
Blockchain would allow this huge number of people to participate in the global economy and get an identity which would enable them to get access to financial services.
Also, people working abroad could send the money home with purely simbolic fees, helping their familiy to get more money.
- Better institutions
By putting the data on Blockchain, institutions could become more efficient, lower the costs and reduce the number of errors they make. Also, all promises given before the election by the politicians could be recorded and the people would be able to track whether they held the promises or not.
- Elimination of world hunger
Blockchain-based systems could be a great solution for tracking the distribution of agricultural resources. By reducing the waste in food supply chain, Blockchain could bring many benefits to governments, food growers and farmers. Effective use of food could end world hunger within a couple of years.
- Better law enforcement
Blockchain could help us save billions by making trials faster and easier. For example, the ownership of the land could be put on unhackable Blockchain and when certain criteria is met (the person dies or moves to Florida), the ownership is automatically passed to the individuals specified in the will.
Or in the art, which is a market that isn't regulated properly. There are many people who steal the pieces or cheat in some way to earn money. By placing the data on Blockchain, authors could be sure that their art is almost useless for the crooks, as it would require its approval for any action and receive royalties for every third-party use.
- Better healthcare
Placing sensitive health data onto a Blockchain could prevent errors and ensure that nobody has tempered with it. The technology would also allow doctors to react properly in any situation, as they would be able to access complete medical history of a patient and take care of him in the best way possible.

Thanks for sharing kouba01. There are certainly many many potential real world blockchain applications that can benefit society. Blockchain based tracking of agriculture and food distribution is one I had not thought of and this is even more so with post disaster relief supply distribution which is a major issue currently in post disaster efforts globally

I hope that's all true. I do think it will make a huge difference in society. Hopefully we're all still considered getting in early.
I disagree based on the fact that it already has made a difference for a lot of people. Take Venezuela for example. Imagine suffering from hyperinflation, where would you turn for help and stability?
I had zero clue that Blockchain was this big of a deal. I thought it was only useful for crypto currency. This really is something huge! Thanks for adding on to the post and thank you @adsactly for educating me more about this topic. Quite a long article but the time was well worth it!

Very nice ideas. It seems the applications for new blockchain technologies are endless, just like are the endless applications for current internet. I think we're living in an exciting time of innovation. I'm grateful I found out about cryptocurrencies and am able to watch this all unfold.
You have mentioned quite a few improvements that blockchain could improve. I really never thought that blockchain could impact healthcare; but I do see the possibalite.
My only concern with the Healthcare use case is that the information would be placed on a (public?) Blockchain and would exist there basically forever. At the moment, the encryption used to protect this data is secure. But, this won't always be the case with the advent of quantum computers. So, this implies that at some point, that sensitive health data will be readable.
Actually, you caught a small spelling mistake made by yours truly, the word tempered should have been spelled as tampered. You may be very right that health data on blockchain may not be a great combo but I also imagine there being encryption as well so only certain providers can access and they may only have limited access using a temporary code... There's no certainty how this will all play out.
This is so facinating to me as I open my mind and intellect to expore new ways to invest and embrace this technology we must keep up with before we get left behind.
