Pure gold w/ Drea Alexa!
Another late night, but I don’t mind. These after midnight posts are therapeutic, and for months I’ve been complaining about the frequency I had to be on the road. It isn’t lost on me that I’m finally having a chance to enjoy that. Today, @guthrie, @vermillionfox and I enjoyed our weekly Family Fun Night. We watched Terminator 2: Judgement Day. We all cleaned and did house chores, and I managed to get to @caffetto for a few hours to finish some edits. With all of that and my evening Steemit post, it’s been a good day.
I have a set of images with a model I’ve been looking forward to shooting with for years. Her name is Drea Alexa and I remember her messaging me on Instagram ages ago. We talked rates and dates, but it never happened. Time went on, and somewhere along the line, she absolutely blew up! Almost tipping 400K followers on Instagram, she’s dominating the important car scene and reaching unbelievable levels of success. This was the year, during Viva Las Vegas, we were both in the same city. Finally!
She was my last shoot of the entire two week trip. I had 28 shoots in two cities during that time, and you’d think I’d be spent, physically, mentally and creatively, but I genuinely felt like we’d saved the best for last. I was on an art high at our opportunity to finally shoot together. We met at Rio hotel and it just worked out that a breathtaking Las Vegas golden hour sunset was pouring through the windows of the suite. We made the most of it, shooting over 400 photos in 30 minutes of that amazing lighting
These are just the first photos I’m getting back to Drea, so there are a lot more to come. She’s been incredibly patient while I’ve caught up on sharp deadline work and constant traveling. Looking forward to finishing this shoot in the coming days or weeks. Tomorrow, I’ll have some time with @ghostfish to launch our crowdfunding platforms for @coppercoins. Great shots. I always curious that how you as a photographer come to an agreement with the subject (the model) to share the photos? Do you own these photos or the subject has already shared those publicly?
Thanks, @fr3eze! The photographer owns the work, but can extend the same ownership rights to the model. There are photographer agreement forms and contracts online. It all depends on what you and the client agree to.
Appreciate the clarification. I always assume that model own the most right in the your series of product since they are they are the one who dressed up and being captured, also I assumed that they paid you for the work. Seems like it works the other way round? That's definitely a cool life you are living being able to do what you love and a really flexible timing work-for-yourself schedule.
The pictures you take are so beautiful. Your pictures look better than other pictures. Looking at your pictures looks like a living Picture! Keep up the good work.
