Damn! Seems That Spring May be Coming in Central Canada!

Woke up a bit late today and went to take the dog out for a shit only to be greeted by what the average Canadian would consider "damn nice weather" after being stuck in a god damned deep freeze for the past 4 months or more. Almost considered hoppin' on my motorcycle and going for a quick ride but leaned to not go due to the roads being covered in slush due to the snow starting to melt a bit.. With tomorrow being "Ground hog" day I guess we'll see if another few months of winter are going to be felt here or if the great spring melt has begun. Although the "Ground hog" day is complete mystic bullshit it is a fun little event that happens each year on Febraury 2nd in which a Ground hog is said to come out of his burrow and if he sees his shadow their will be more winter.. But if he doesn't then spring is on it's way soon.
Here is to hoping only a little bit of winter is left. It's been a long ass depressing winter and certainly not as productive as it should have been but alas with spring just around the corner I'm feeling pretty hopeful that I'll be able to get out and enjoy warm weather sooner than later. Being cooped up inside trying to avoid the cold has been shown to have a detrimental effect on a persons psyche which from experience I can certainly say this is the case. Cabin fever is certainly a real thing!

That is 28c warmer than we had the past 2 weeks..
Visiting Edmonton... it was -30 not even two weeks ago, +2 a week later. Then -10. Now +2.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the wave keeps continuing and we’ll have multiple more rounds through spring and winter before actual spring. Ha!

It was really cold out here as well around 2 weeks ago.. now we have this nice weather, is certainly a refreshing change!
Enjoy Edmonton, it's not the nicest city in Canada but if you avoid the bad neighborhoods it can be a good time for sure. :)
I grew up here, never liked it so much, got out quickly after high school. Yet coming back all these years later with a bit more maturity, I do have a different appreciation for it. Not where I’d want to settle long-term, but it’s nice to at least enjoy while here...
I didn't know that! I've been in Manitoba for most of my life sadly.
Did live in Calgary for a bit and it was fun, but fell in with a bad crowd so had to get out of there.
It is always neat to go back to where you came from after growing up. Thanks for sharing. :)
