Picture Stories #327 - Train Journey

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

I find train journeys to be really special and memorable, getting the opportunity to make your way through different kinds of terrains can be an exciting experience. We get to cross the lush and green countryside, travel across lakes and rivers, traverse steely bridges and even make our way under mountains. Pictures from one such recent train ride are shown belwo, and I often enjoy sitting near the window to enjoy the breeze.

In today's fast world, we often want things to be done fast and the same applies for travel as well. Flight travel has become the convenient and quick mode of travel for people wanting to save time, however train journeys still have their charm and whenever possible I do try to travel by train!

Thank you for reading!

I can see why this may have been a memorable day. The day looked beautiful, and the photographs were magical. Great job @jznsamuel

Thank you, this train trip was after a long time and I certainly enjoyed :)

Agree! Traveling by non-express (Rajdhani, Shatabdi type) is great fun in India - I love sitting in the open doorways, smoking, interacting with the scenery and experiencing it floating by 🔆 .

Yes, i used to travel more by train in childhood than I do now, but it is definitely a great experience :)

I enjoy the train as well and actually enjoy the sleeper trains when you get your own room. The Orient Express is on my bucket list in the future as I think that would be a great way to spend a couple of days. Looks like you had a good time with some great photo's to match.

Thanks, trains do have a certain charm that will never go away!! Especially I have very fond memories from childhood.
Oh I do hope you get to enjoy The Orient Express soon :)

Traveling by train has its good side, as to me I like to travel over night and take a sleeping carriage, maybe because as children we visited my aunt and uncles and had to take a long journey, so it was an adventure to have some meals in travel, sleep over and of course it was great to learn other children and make short term friends. Nowadays I have no idea if people would like to do that or maybe prefer to arrive quickly to their destination place. You are lucky being able to travel with open window I can imagine how it feels :)

thanks!! you've got such good memories of train travel... yes, making short term friends was also interesting.

Hey mate,

I noticed that you had nominated my recent article for an @ocd daily nomination.

Thanks for sharing my work. It means a lot that you saw some value in it and thought others would, too.

All the best,

Will do, man. Keep an eye out for upcoming articles. I always put 120% into my work and I hope that curating my work and giving it more exposure allows your own platform to grow through curation rewards.

Take care,

For many reasons, train journeys have a strong tendency to be interesting. Besides, it's a great alternative to know the way around in a more personal way.

Some of them may even be very long, but they are hardly boring.

I'm sorry, but I'm trying my best to promote this: It's about a movie challenge that I've just created. This is the first time that I try to make a contest with a broader scope and I ask for your help to promote (resteem / upvote... it's optional) and participate.

Here's the link with all the infos: MOVIE CHALLENGE (#01): "An Unexpected Horror Crossover" | Announcement + First Edition.

It's all very simple, you just need to be creative. There are 10.000 STEEM on the table for prizes!

Thanks.

Thanks :)
Congratulations on the contest, I'm not sure I can participate in this edition but good luck!!

No problem. Thanks anyway, @jznsamuel.
