I've been supplying for about 1 week, two pots I placed on the corner of my street, under a tree. In a bowl I put dog food and the other water so that the street dogs that go there thirsty or hungry, can feed themselves and take their water.

Here in the neighborhood where I live the population of abandoned dogs in the streets has grown a lot and one of the main causes is the vacating of the buildings that are part of the residential complex next to my house. Due to cracks in the structures, the buildings had to be vacated. Another (much worse) cause are the cowardly owners of these helpless animals who have cowardly abandoned them here in the neighborhood. An act of extreme wickedness and cowardice.

Since then, it is common to see several dogs wandering the street from side to side, whether alone or in groups through the streets of the neighborhood. They walk and run in the middle of the avenues, from the streets, running the risk of being run over by cars. In their eyes you can see the desperation of not knowing where to go, not knowing who will take care of them, where they go to sleep that night.

All this makes me think and get very upset. This is not the first and will not be the last post I write here on my blog at Steemit about abandonment of animals. I have a dog. A Labrador. He gives me a lot of work. He's hyperactive, very energetic, if permit, he messes up the whole house, eats the bathroom trash, rips my clothes, "promotes chaos" but all this "work" he gives me will never be a reason for me one day to get rid of him.

I believe that a person (or animal?) who dares to abandon a defenseless animal, who does not speak, does not know how to express his feelings through words, to ask, to beg him not to abandon him, even after all his affection given to him, don't deserve the slightest confidence. If she does such cruelty to an animal, imagine what she will be able to do with a human being?
