Drawing Ladies

in #art9 years ago

Never been the best at drawing ladies but are few of my attempts. They all have a specific story. They are strong female characters with a determined attitude.

A lovely new character from my comic Shades Of Men. I take this opportunity to assure you, I am still making my way to finish the next page. I just move at a slower pace...

Possible design for a unit of the armored troops from IN/SYS. Dropped on strange structure they would be faced with the worst and challenged to survived.

Finally a red femme fatale with no specific story line. Or maybe she does... Check out GHOUL RED ONE to see for yourself.

It is part of an on-going anthology called "Tales of the Wandering Stranger". Please go check it out. So many talented artists to discover!

Thanks for reading this short post,
See you on the other side,

Jrej

That's very nice of you to say. Thanks for the comment! ;-)

Awesome style - reminds me of Milonogiannis. Following

Very stylish

Resteemed! Keep it up, I do see a lot of character in these women ;)

Hehe I try my best! Thanks for the support.

Moebius says:

Drawing a man is very different from drawing a woman. With males, you can be looser and less precise in their depiction; small imperfections can often add character. Your drawing of a woman, however, must be perfect; a single ill-placed line can dramatically age her or make her seem annoying or ugly. Then, no one buys your comic!

From this interview:

You are not the first one I have heard complain about women being hard to draw...

That reflects perfectly well the misogyny of our societies, doesn't it?

It does show some of the shortcomings of Giraud's art - there was a strange symbolic treatment of human life and you might see that more in his female than male characters - it also point to a rather important imbalance in most cultures concerning sex.

I am not sure which society you refer to, but in general I think calling societies misogynistic is wrong or very unprecise. At least in the way radical feminists use it about Western societies. It is like calling a social democrat a fascist.

Nice job, @jrej! I upvoted and followed you not to miss your updates:)

Wow you rock Cookiespooky. I'm honored of such comment from a talented artist like yourself. Following back for more of your awesome portraits!

Thank you for your kind words, @jrej!
